Hi, I'm 28 years old and have been looking at porn since I was a little kid. Looking back it's been like a very slow poison in my life. But slow poison can be just as deadly. My pattern is I PMO about 2-3 times a week. There were times in the past where I would go on binges and fap every day sometimes twice. It seems like every time I try to quit it gets MUCH worse. But I'm here to say that I'm going to quit PMO for good starting today!!! I have always been a creative person, but I can't get into any hobby or discipline for very long without completely losing interest. I know porn is the culprit, every time I go on a no PMO streak, I suddenly find the creative juices start to flow. Not only that, but I start attracting pretty ladies too. I guess confidence IS the key. But all that is taken away by porn. I feel isolated and alone. After PMOing whenever I see a nice girl I think,"why would she ever want to talk to me." My goal is to quit PMO forever, get a life and find a wife!! wish me luck.

Take responsability, that is good, P is poison i agree but nobody forces us to take it, we have to change from the problem into the solution, step up and do it.

Gonna steal a line from AA/NA with the whole "one day at time" approach. I totally agree that P is pretty much poisonous, especially when we get caught up with the feelings of helplessness and frustrations with our inability to quit. Find a supportive community (like this one) and keep trying! It's worth it!

OP, I am in a very similar situation as you.
I have tried to quit in the past, and partially succeeded. In fact I was able to quit 2 times in the past, and each time, I really unleashed my creativity and work ethic, and significantly improved my life.
But after a while, I got comfortable and went back to PMOing. But this time, I want to quit for good.

The only thing I want to tell you is that quitting PMO works wonders. It is hard, but not impossible. In fact, its very hard.
So don't think its easy, because that thought will make you PMO today, and make you think that you can start again tomorrow. But you can't because 2 days from now, you will think the exact same thing.
So, you have to stop today, stop tonight, STOP NOW.

Also, we are 28 man. We are gonna be 30 soon. Its about time we had our shit together. Porn is indeed a poison, a very very sweet poison, but a poison nonetheless. It will kill you.
But our motivations can exceed its influence on us.
So I say, find an emotional reason to quit, maybe its improving your life, maybe its a dedication to your wife, or maybe you want to feel creative and powerful again, and the pain of being uncreative and powerless is too much to bear.
In any case, you can do it, and only you can do it. Only you can rid this poison from your life.
    March on brother.

so it's been three days and i'm feeling pretty good. Pretty sure I'm about to hit that first bump. This is something I need to get out of my life. I know it has been holding me back and keeping me down. I'm going to stay strong.
