    Hey guys,

Tried to block Red Tube and Porn Hub a few days back but because they're both https sites my router still allows me access.

Is there a way to block porn sites? my router still allows me access.

Is there another way to block porn sites?

My relapse triggers include the following online media site Redtube/Pornhub/Metart

  3. Have you considered accountability software? It doesn't block anything but it monitors everything and sends a report to your trusted APs. It has been a big help to me to have it installed on all of my devices!

Which AS are you using? When you say it reports it to your trusted APs, what is a AP?

Finding this extension to be helpful so far.

  5. I use Accountable2You. AP = Accountability Partner. You set up who receives your reports. I have a team of about 10-12 APs who receive my reports. If I can ever serve in this capacity for you, just let me know.

If it's feasible for you to do so, consider setting up your filter so that only approved websites can be accessed. For instance, I use qustodio. I have it set to block every category and unrated sites. Nothing that's not on my list of allowed sites gets through. Even had to allow the individual google services such as docs dot google, calendar dot google, etc, so that sites that use those will still work properly, while keeping the search engine itself blocked.

It will mean taking the time to make a list of every single website you want to be able to continue accessing with the risk of missing something, but it will do the job.

Its all pointless, you need to rely on your mind set being right. Don't rely on anything or anyone else - Turn your Shoulds into Musts brother. If you can control your own mind you can do anything. Nofap is a state of mind.

Never tempted on my phone, only the laptop

Was doing surprisingly well during Nov-Apr, managed to NoFap for 120 days. Then I just got this massive craving to go back to Porn. Like a cocaine addict who hasn't had his fix for 4 months. Was super Negative, Angry and Frustrated the last 48 hours though. Drinking half a bottle of wine didn't help Saturday night. Feel a little run down today. Bit stressed as my 6 month contract ends in 5 weeks and got poached by another company today. Semi-confident that this workplace will keep me on but miss job security and a higher wage.

This is not a broken leg. This is a state of mind. Like a guy who is an arsehole stressing at everyone in his life, this isn't right, that isn't how I want it ... then he finds out he has two weeks to live, all of a sudden all that doesn't matter anymore, he makes peace with himself, he tells people he loves them, he watches the sunset and cries - he is greatful for everything he has been through good and bad. Everyone is welcome to do as they please, I am no ones teacher, but I have my opinion and I know what has worked for me!

  11. I agree with you, this is what I figured from blockers. But they help, just dont depend on them alone.

  12. I agree with you completely that mental discipline is a must in this fight. The battle is truly in our minds, and that is where we must fight and win it. I follow the FREEdom process, and it has been very helpful to me in this regard: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zqVL11JjWICOHCRUDmqXr9TNC_gpb6yhRF1hKp-fxcc/edit

I also believe that we do better at establishing mental dicsipline if we do it in the context of a supportive community. PMO's power comes from the secrecy, hiddenness, and isolation it engenders. Conquering it for the long-term necessarily involves, imo, bringing the fight out into the open with trusted friends and fighting it together. This is why I recommend accountability software rather than blockers -- these leverage the power of a team of trusted APs.

But, each journey is unique! Find what works for you and use it to full effect. There is not only one right way to get free of PMO. Get free and stay free, whatever it takes! I am glad to be on the journey with other folks such as yourself who are also passionate about finding and keeping this freedom. :)

I use SafeDNS. They have a free account. I have my router set up to use their DNS servers. That way all devices on the network are protected.

I think blocking software is great. Anything that makes it harder to see porn is a good thing. After you’ve had time to change habits then it may not be necessary. Personally I’ll always use this because I don’t want to undo all that I have done. I’m not trying to prove my willpower and strength. I’m trying to never look at porn again. If I want to prove my willpower I’ll find some other difficult task.
