Please help me

  1. Hi,

I am new here. I am a 36 year old man and have been addicted to porn for as long as I can remember. My wife of 9 years has suffered tremendously because of my addiction and deception. She is now leaving me, I love her so much but it is all my fault. I take full responsibility for my actions, something I never done during our marriage. This is day one for me. I don’t respect myself and want this addiction to stop forever. I have signed up to an online course. I think that I desperately need accountability. I have ruined my own life and that of my wife’s through this addiction. Please help me. Thank you

You haven't ruined your life - you are just passing your learning process as a human being. We make habits and we can break habits. Self-created suffering can turn into joy. It's your choice.

    Welcome to the Nofap community.
The NO PMO journey is not easy but worth the effort.
    The community will support you.

You are looking for true happiness - that's the reason you registered here. Getting rid of addiction - that's well possible.
You have to respect yourself, to accept yourself and to like yourself. In fact you are a wonderful person - desperately asking for help and seriously motivated to break the habit.
I recommand to install a day counter, to make a commitment and to install a personal jounal with the link in your signature.
    Good luck. Enjoy the journey!

  5. Thank you so much for your kind words. I suppose the firsts step is to admit that you are helpless and then reach out for support. The support from this community fills me with confidence. I have started a journal and I will take your advice and install a day counter. Thank you

  7. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal, we could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!

You got it. These words express a real wisdom.
Whenever I recognized and accepted I am completely helpless and prayed for help, miracles happened in my life.
You are on the right track. And you have much more power than you think.

  9. Thank you. I do feel like I have the power this time. This time I will see it through

  10. Hi yeah I would love to be your accountability partner, how do we go about doing that? I’ll do whatever it takes. I want to help others as well as myself

  11. Oh and I signed up for the Universal Man course. It was the first one I came across online. It’s a series of lessons and talks online. I’m sure there are many things like that out there.

  12. The m you so much for your reply and advice. I have started a journal and I will post every day. Rather than search for porn or get excited about notification from girls on messenger I am now looking forward to seeing replies and notifications from the guys in this forum. I want to be a part of it to not on health myself but also help to heal others on the process.

  13. Thank you for you lengthy and informative reply. I just watched the video and it really gets straight to the point. Porn has ruined my marriage (although I take full blame for that). I also agree that I need to be constantly be feeding my brain with the correct materials from this website and others. I will go to your thread on your journey and follow it. You seem to be doing well and making a success of things. Thank you and well done brother!
