To rid their mind of pornographic thoughts and is that the cause of these intrusive thoughts?

I find my mind/ imagination tends to just come up with sexual thoughts when i'm not even looking at stuff. its not memory based thoughts, this is my mind (possibly my subconscious) creating these desires. I want to do longer stints with nofap but it's incredibly difficult when your imagination is essentially working against you. I feel the same way I do after I have looked at porn when i've had these thoughts flood my mind.

I think part of the trick is taking notice of when your mind wanders to these thoughts and fantasies, and doing your best to retrain your mind to focus on or think of something else immediately. Snap yourself out of it. Preoccupy yourself with another thought or task and I think eventually you will be able to overcome these mental compulsions.

@daemonswithin has written a great post on overcoming sexual fantasy.

  3. It can be different for everyone, but the consistent thread is time. I know you're asking how long, but the hope comes less from a definitive timeframe and more from the fact that the longer you're brain is free from porn and psubs, the less you will be plagued by pornographic thoughts. If you cut off the source of the fuel, eventually the fire will burn out. Sexual fantasy is far more difficult to eliminate than porn, but it does get easier. Once your brain is rewired, you'll find it doesn't turn to pornographic thoughts like it used to. Whether that takes 90 or 180 days or longer depends on how often you're feeding the reward center of your brain.

But generally you should feel better after 90 days.
    BUT
Dont think like, I do a nofap challenge for 90 days, or i will abstain from porn for 90 days.
Because what? You will come back to porn after 90 days and become the same looser?
    Stop
Its a lifestyle my friend, beneficial alpha lifestyle!

    It may take years.

I believe that acquiring your own “personal sex visuals” ☺️ to replace the porn ones can speed things up, though!

  7. I'm continuously getting better approaching two years off from this. Porn doesnt even appeal to me any more and I was an extreme case in my day. I will be keeping this up for life.
