Why do people become pornstars?

Well your opening a giant can of psychology I’m sure you know; and psychology by it’s very nature is a highly volatile science(it’s not exact but fluid & ever changing based on many factors.) I only took basic psych classes in college but it’s always fascinated me. So layman’s opinion-

Let’s start with birth and genetics. Some people are inherently predisposed to be more ‘risky’ based on genetics. But it’s not an exact science because so much of nurture plays into that.
Psychology and science have come to definite conclusions in regards to the actual physical act of nurturing, touching, singing & talking to babies and their respective cognitive development. If you were to only feed a child and change it, but never ever held it or played with it, the child will actually die. That’s how crucial intimacy and stimulation through the act of nurturing is to healthy human development.
Now this snowballs into childhood as extreme attention seeking behaviors such as fits, fights, disobedience & more. Because this child is literally starving for validation love and attention. All human beings require love, recognition and acceptance to develop into healthy sustainable people.
Further into teenage years as risky sexual behavior, drug use etc. These are coping mechanisms to help a person deal with their environment.
As these people become adults these mechanisms develop into full formed compulsive habits & addictions.

How many little girls and boys in 2nd grade dream of growing up and being used for sex, beaten, slapped, and treated worse than an animal? The answer is none.
What happens is these people grow up to believe that their only worth is providing sexual satisfaction. Just as that hurt neglected child would cry for love and acceptance by breaking things or throwing fits, the adult child who is engulfed in the porn industry is made to believe they are only loved if they let other people do what they want with their body. Throw in money, cameras and the illusion of fame. All the drugs and alcohol you want and you see how this cycle consumes them until there is really nothing left of the person they once were.
The few that are “lucky” enough to last longer than 2 years have disease, destroyed body parts, extreme desensitization and the inability to love or trust any more. They have been through so much physical and mental abuse that mental illness is simply the next step. Especially with the rampant drug & alcohol abuse involved in that world.


Woman and men who have immense pain, frustration, confusion, and poor self image enter into porn. Bottom line. And the producers of this industry know this. They target the weak and the abused. The foster children and the women from broken homes. They hook them with drugs and money, and use them until there is nothing left. Then they throw them away.

It’s easy to judge these people and to hate them. I see it on this site all the time. But really these people are so disconnected from their true selves, that person they were when they were little that the right thing to do for them is to have sympathy and also not partake in this industry one bit, not a single view.
Even if they don’t have sympathy or are the worst people who would do anything for money, we should attempt to show them what they don’t have for themselves. Compassion. Because if they did have compassion for themselves and a good view of themselves they would not let hundreds of random people sexually use them and harm them for money.

 

Most people who do porn are extremely damaged, or leave the industry very damaged. You see a lot of stars trying to normalise their 'career' on social media because so many people 'enjoy their work'. But the reason people watch porn is because they don't know the damage it can do. It doesn't matter who you are as a person, but unless you are some sort of marxist moron then you won't respect their career. it is essentially an even more degrading form of prostitution. Most of the stars deep down know that they hate it and would get out if they could, and remain because they feel they need to or by employing moral doublethink. There might be a few stars who feel they really enjoy it but im sure they are deluding themselves.

People on nofap often blame the stars for their addiction. Firstly that is counter productive because no one is to blame except you. blaming others is a standard victim mentality which stops you from taking responsibility and means you will never actually break free unless you change your mindset. The stars probably have worse mental health situations and life standards than almost all of the people on nofap.

The producers are the main problem, but who can blame them for plugging a gap in the market. Porn drove the development of the internet lol. The best thing we can do as a society is education. I stayed away from drugs because I realised that if shit hit the fan it would be me paying for my mistakes and no one else. That really put me off. If I knew porn was addictive and it could give you ED, do you think I would have started?

The stars in porn are damaged people. why else would way more people work terrible jobs on minimum wage rather than slip into porn? why do the stars in most cases only last a few years in the 'industry'? what they all need is help, not blame. They're the real victims in this.

 

One is actually one of my best friends. For him it's the money, and he's just very open in general about his sexuality.

He knows I'm abstaining and do nofap. He acknowledges that his work, and also doing PMO, have taken a huge toll on him, his sexuality, and his relationships.

Let's just say the reasons are complex. For many it's financial, and it's simply just "work". Others are motivated by insecurities or ego.

 

So how did you meet your friend and so forth? Did you know him before he started that career? Is it full-time work for him? Is he gay or heterosexual?

In the heterosexual porn scenes the man seems mostly to be a prop. He could be replaced with a plastic sex toy quite easily without disappointing most viewers. It's different with the women, because they are the main draw. It would be different for gay porn too I imagine.

I've also heard it is more difficult for the male porn stars to put on a performance for hours and hours under lights in front of the film crew. You can't tell if the woman is enjoying herself, but the man must get an erection on cue for the shot and then take a coffee break and do it again

 

Many reasons, either for money, or because they were addicted to pornography ? (lust), or because of their background of family/social issues that led them to eventually enter this field. Also I am not sure but this world is full of darkness where kids and women are kidnapped and enslaved in countries that don't have strict laws. They either did it because they "want it" or "victims".

 

I knew and met him before I knew he did porn. He has another, full-time job which I knew about, but then told me he does porn too, but after I met him.

He's gay, and does gay porn. Something interesting he said is that a that many men who do gay porn identify as being totally straight, but need the money. So they'll shoot their dick with viagra (or whatever is used to artificially create an erection) and have them perform. Or, have straight porn on in the background.

I think when he started it was a curiosity thing, and feeling a sense of liberation to do it. Also the money is pretty good. He definitley just sees it as work now, and fully knows and acknowledges that that has taken a massive toll on him. At some point he is going to have to do a reboot himself, because he can't view sex as anything but "work" and putting on a performance.

 

@Pedantic_Amphibian Your comments make sense. I learned a while back gay porn is for girls, while lesbian pork is for guys... makes your head spin to see the warped psychology.
Then you see transgendered people do the same... they are normally attracted to manly men, but put on the show with women for the sake of men. I have asked that to some of the transgendered people I have been with and the explanation is mind boggling.

When I was a young man I seriously entertained the idea. As a product of sexual abuse I can say the affirmation is that people desire you. Yes, it’s based on the physical but when you’re emotionally needy you take what attention you can get. And you probably convince yourself those looking at you in porn love you in some perverse way. Anyway that’s how I saw it.

 

Were you concerned that friends or relatives would learn about it? That would be a biggee for me.

These women are getting thousands if not millions of hits on their social media accounts. Guys are constantly telling them they are amazing, beautiful, gorgeous. Clubs and bars love to have them there and the drinks are always on the house or some rich guy is happy to pay. I think I get it. Good luck to them.

 

They are doing this because of someone like me watching them online constantly. Dreaming about having sex with them, feeding them million views. They get paid by contracts and advertisements.

They are doing this because of jobless. Their salaries are making other careers look stupid and unworthy.

They are doing this because they got kidnapped. That's the only way to stay alive from criminals.

They are doing this because they are also addicts, who need more money for drugs.

They are doing this because of someone like me, who forget about the above while watching them suffer.

 

There are many reasons why we have porn content creators. Some people wanted to make the content they want to see and others do it because it's easy money. Low self esteem high view of themselves physically, power and control. ive interviewed 2 of them and listened to a few more in videos. everyone has a different story.
