I've relapsed a few times, and through these failures, I have found that masturbation helps. I am not saying that one should keep masturbating while rebooting, but I've found that having a pre-reboot masturbation period helps. Let's say you relapse. You then masturbate while thinking of actual girls for a few days, and then you start your reboot.

It is difficult to explain, but it provides a surge of energy, and it seems to lessen the time required to fully recover. When you pmoed for an extended period of time, you have trouble MOing without porn. So the best way to describe it would be a sort of training to remind your brain that you are actually turned on by people. I've also found my erections take less time to return. And I start to get turned on by girls in less time than usual.

For example, I remember that after a past relapse, I decide that I would only masturbate to fantasize about girls I knew, or pass experiences that had turned me on. The first of those 4 days, It took me while to ejaculate. The second day, it took less time and so on. By the 4th day, it was easier than on the first one. Afterwards I stopped there and started a streak. I felt energy that I usually have when I'd get beyond a few weeks of no pmo after the second day of masturbation. That's why I went for 4 days. After the 4th day though, I felt a dip in my energy levels so I stopped. Therefore the masturbation period must not be excessive. From my experience I'd say 3 days at most.

The difference between my mo session in day 1 and day 4 were drastic. I'd say it took me about 15+ minutes on the first day to ejaculate, but on the fourth day, I was almost able to ejaculate at will so the session lasted for 3 minutes(I didn't want to do it for too long). My erection was also stronger(though not as strong as after a long streak), and the process got easier. Personally, I won't MO unless I relapse, and I don't intend to relapse forever. I am not pro masturbation, but I have come to find it helpful after a relapse.

Another benefit, which is more subtle than the others, is that I don't loose morale or become depressed when I fail. I have found that the time it takes for me to pick myself up after a relapse has shortened. Mo maybe?

Those are my observations. They are my experiences and they will, of course, vary depending on what your habits were, and how long you've been doing it. I do not know if I am on to something, but I am very interested in finding out if others feel the same, and if this is really a way to lessen the time it takes to reach full recovery compared to if you had just stopped cold right after a relapse. PLEASE keep in mind that there is no shortcut to overcoming pmo. It will still require discipline to succeed.

The no pmo movement is mainly an online community of people posting testimonials, shared experiences and perspectives. There isn't a scientific basis to confirm the best way to start after a relapse, so I want to raise a question..

Is a MO period after a relapse helpful and beneficial in any way? I believe so... What about you?

Masturbation does nothing but keep you from recovering.Period.You`re throwing away precious life force and damaging your brains reward center every time you give in!We as humans have a remarkable ability to rationalize damn near anything as beneficial if it`s something we don`t really want to give up.Crack whores do it,gambling addicts do it,alcoholics do it, and chronic masturbators/porn addicts do it.If you are serious about taking control of your right hand then you will stop immediately and vow to not do it again, come hell or high water, for at least 90 days.Failure and relapse is not an option if you want to truly reset. It`s really not the end of the World, and you will see the benefits only after an extended period of TOTAL abstinence.

Those are my 2 cents since you asked.

Hello Playfuldude88, I'm sorry, I don't understand your story at all. I don't see how a period of masturbation can assist your reboot. I fail to grasp your objective. I have only felt benefit since giving up porn, giving up masturbation and no relapse since May last year.
