Hello everybody. I apologize in advance if I make language mistakes somewhere because my English is not good enough.
I am right now on day 41 in my nofap hardmode journey, this is my longest streak ever.

I can't see all the benefits that I've seen a lot of YouTube videos about (I suspect these videos are just for views)
for most of these 41 days I feel depressed and iritated (like today) I see no benefit. But for some time I have noticed a huge disadvantage (my complexion has worsened, on the nose and cheeks clear ugly and redness, acne begins to come back day by day, my complexion is getting worse, even though I have been taking tablets from a dermatologist since February.
until I did nofapchallenge my skin was in good condition, now it is terrible.)

Mentally I feel like a shit.
this whole challenge is one big flatline.
many youtubers have argued that nofap will change your life and change my life... for the worse.

What do you think about it?

Nofap does not make your life better, in fact it is the time that you saved from watching porn which might make your life better ( if you use that time correctly, for example: reading, meditating). Doing nofap when you're on an unhealthy diet, plays video games all day, not reading any book will not make your life better

Completely agree with It's TIME to STOPPP. No system or process is going to fix everything. It's a tool you use to go where you want to go and do what you want to do. Why did you start NoFap and why did you feel it would add to your life?

Well you did ask "what do you think" :)

I agree with the last two posters. You've done the big thing by quitting the toxic PMO.

The rest is up to you.

Patience brother, 41 days is nothing. It took me 3-4 months of monk mode to get out of total mental and physical shit storm and gradually get better. I'm nearing 8 months of monk mode now on top of half a year of abstention last year and I'm still not in the clear. It takes a lot of patience, self examination, humility, self discipline and determination to win this war.
Sidharta Gautama once said: "It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell."

  8. Day 41. I have never made it past day 30. You are a bigger man than I.

I can relate to the skin condition issue. Usually anytime I try a self-help concept I get breakouts. I think it's the excitement that comes from thinking I found something that will get people to like me and organize my life just messes with my hormones. I get breakouts. At my age, acne is an embarrassment. Acne *with* wrinkles. Not exactly helping me get a woman. And I am already behind to begin with.

I will watch some of those YouTube videos of some 20-something year old guy from India saying that nofap has changed his life. Compared with me they never had much problems to begin with. Usually these guys already have girlfriends and people who care about them, so to me, they're already in a better place to begin with. Usually when I find that out, I stop watching. I'm more interested in the Incels/tflers such as myself who do it. A YouTuber who went by the handle Foreveralone Feels who is an Incel tried it, and it didn't seem to do much for him.

I'm finishing day 14, and I feel okay. My energy is up, and I do feel like a better person given that I've control my urges for this long. There aren't too many guys who can say that. So I feel like I'm better than they are. I'm finally starting to do something about some weight gain I've had in the past several months. If nothing else, I'm at least more cognizant of it.

I'm going to stick with it as long as I can. I don't really have anywhere else to go at this point.

  9. Hi gemit23, you will have to give your reset a lot longer. The problems with your skin and mood are only natural. Your whole physiology is remaking itself.
Your body is cleansing itself of toxins. That is what is causing the acne. It was unable to do this while you were engaging in PMO. While this was going on your body was working flat out to provide semen when you ejaculated. It simply could not perform its other functions adequately as a result.

Likewise your serotonin levels have dipped since you stopped fapping. Your body needs time to recalibrate. Regardless of your current discomfort you are better off without PMO. Keep going and take care.

You clearly have a bad attitude. I did nofab for 40days and it changed my life forever.. stop discouraging people. Leave this site if you don’t trust in nofab. You won’t make me break my streak.

It's not ironic. I just want you to remember why you started. It is necessary for you to tell if you are making progress.

    skin problems can last?
I will start the challenge again from September, but I'm afraid of these complexion problems

Very good, keep trying, relapses are part of recovery process. One day you'll break free. What helped me in early months has been 1) daily aerobic exercise (walking/running, cycling in nature), 2) enough sleep (hard to achieve as withdrawals usually include insomnia) and 3) proper diet (no sugar, no processed food, lots of fruits/vegetables, lots of water plus taking supplements: fish oil, vitamin B complex, vitamin D, Zinc, Mg).

There is probably something else that's causing you pain. Addiction is like a painkiller you use to numb yourself. If you address the source of the pain, you will naturally stop doing it.

  19. It will last as long as necessary. Your body is infinitely wise. Your best course is to leave it intelligently alone. I'd advise you to Google 'Natural Hygiene' and T.C Fry. This will explain matters much better than I ever could.

Hi Fenix! Hope you are doing good and it looks like you are sir.... I had a question about the serotonin levels. Just the last two months now I have no desire to actually want to do my job. I mean I get up and know I have to do things but working where I am just is not fulfilling. A lot of stuff is not fulfilling anymore. I am wondering at 10 months monk mode now if I have finally hit a low flat line. I think because of how severe my addiction was that my brain has finally dropped from all the hits of feel good chemicals and is changing as the months go by now. I know it is still way early for me and honestly the getting girls part is not a problem and not why I am doing nofap. I want the energy back that I have lost which I believe mostly stems from bad sleep which I am working on. I was hoping that I would slim down faster, always been heavier throughout the years thinking the PMO was doing it. Looks like that will take more discipline as well.

Still curious though how severe addicted minds take to heal. Psychiatrist say it does take three years to overcome addiction so there is a long way to go.
