I hadn't seen porn in 2 years willingly, I don't fantasize, but I keep masturbateing after looking at threads about going back to healthy masturbation, what do I do? Like I can control myself, and stop myself, but when I get onto those threads, I mess with my junk (kinda do but doesn't go anywhere) and than boom, its happening and I'm done. Any ideas or input?

  2. Please enlighten me... did something or someone force you to m ?

First off - I think you should create some REALISTIC goals.
Second - Create some some iron rules you aren't going to brake to enforce those goals.

The realistic part is the important part. Dabbling in the past over not reaching unrealistic goals is unproductive, and can be a cause for depression.

So if your goal was to abstain from using porn & masturbation, you're on the right track.

  4. In my opinion, As long as you don't watch porn Masturbation is healthy in moderation. It depends on how much you do it. If you feel your doing it to an excess consider making a goal to motivate you to stop, such as an affirmation.
Its up to you if you want to reset the counter.

Quite masturbating for good. It will only lead to fantasy and other p-subs and eventually back to P. Have sex with a real life partner instead.

  6. You seem to be staying away from porn, and that's great.
But you also seem to be substituting it for these threads, then you end up masturbating. Does that sound right?
How many threads about healthy masturbation do you need to read?
Stop reading them. They are not helping.

  7. Maybe his need to understand his trigger is what pulls him to these threads ?

In the beginning I realized the posts were the best substitute for mindless surfing for porn. It was like a new addiction. But here in nofap it helps you think AND feel. Not just feel.
Maybe we can encourage him to ask what is drawing him to the threads? What about it ?

Respectfully, this advice seems to read“ just stop “... which of course is not as helpful.

Maybe you need to do an "electronics cleanse". Stay away from electronics for 30 days and see how you feel. Obviously, you might need to use them for work, but use them ONLY for work and then walk away. I'm trying this myself because it's so easy to put your mind on autopilot while you are using them. Electronics also overstimulate your mind. In some of my reading it's been suggested to turn your screen to grayscale. Studies have shown that it leads to less electronics usage because it's less stimulating.

I am on the page today just to update my journal and see if I can offer some encouragement, but I'm about done (20 min) and don't plan on being on electronics for the rest of the day.

I hope this idea works for you. I'll be tracking my progress on my journal.

I don't know how to attach my journal to my picture (like you have it). Can you tell me how to do it?

  12. Yep. Go to your profile page. Copy the link from your journal and paste in the “journal” field.
