Some of you may have heard this in the news : the government of the United Kingdom is planning to implement a new law restricting children and teens accessing online pornography. This "porn block" mainly involves requiring porn websites to demand an official document proving that the user is over 18.
So where do you stand on this? Good? Bad? Don't know?
    Please let me know!

this is good news indeed. Why would you even need to watch porn? You should not watch porn at all because it can mess up your brain just like heroin

  3. Great news.
Although to be honest I think there will be ways around it if one is so determined.
I have beat most blockers I have installed on my computers down the years.

  4. Porn producers will just find ways around it. How will does the government define what constitutes porn? The inability to be able to clearly say when something becomes porn is what made the obscenity laws in the US so useless.

I think pornography should be banned for everyone, but this is a good first step. In the US you have to show an ID to buy alcohol or even cigarettes. The idea that porn is available to kids is shocking. It shows just how deeply evil pornography is that those in charge have allowed children to have access to it.

  8. It would be a great deal for criminals

    I love the idea.
It won't be perfect but at least creating friction will deter some people and instead of 90% porn users the figure would drop to 50% or so.

  10. well i live in iran and its been banned since the age of CD and VCD
It wont stop people from accessing it - PORN should be taught like cigaretts and drugs - i was taught not smock with reasons and i learned to quit before it was late i still have my first and last cigarrete pocket full of cigareets but i just look it and feel proud it was something i didnt lose to

  11. It's so stupid. First of all, the websites themselves are to make sure UK traffic is age-checked. Okay, Mindgeek and Twitter will do that. But a random tube site with pirated porn? No way. And even if it weren't for that, what about proxies and VPNs? Will Her Majesty ban those?

It's an idea, but torrenting etc will circumvent it instantly.

I just don't get it. If the nofappers are opposing and rediculing it what chance does it have of convincing the general public?

  14. On a second thought, I take that back. As a porn "ban" it's bound to be a failure. Not even Orwellian China managed to implement a Porn Prohibition. However as a protection against children stumbling upon pornos by accident it just might be enough.

I want it to happen but I'm worried it won't go far enough or be too easy to circumvent. Still anything that makes it harder to access porn is an improvement. At the moment it's literally at your fingertips.

I think porn should be illegal completely. It has never made sense for prostitution to be illegal (sex for money), but then sex for money on camera (porn) is legal. huh? So, if I put a camera on a hooker THEN it is legal? Porn ruins your brain. Fucks up your brain and you cannot get hard for a real woman anymore. You start craving she-males and transgendered people and all types of fucked up shit because the novelty of normal sex wears off. Why would anyone want that? No love, no empathy, no brain cells left to be a man. All emptiness. Seems like a sad existence.

  17. I think it's a good effort to protect people, but it won't change much. Some companies are offering free VPN's to bypass the ban when it happens. If your an addict and don't care, it'll be easy to go down the cycle.

Nowadays TV shows and movies have enough erotic scenes with little left for imagination. I think instead of banning porn, there should be awareness about its effects.

It wont fix everything but it'll be another hurdle to get over... and at each hurdle we are able to check ourselves and hopefully avoid a relapse

  20. I'd welcome it. In the past I've been dead against regulating stuff but now I'd support it. Anything that makes it difficult to access porn would be great. If it involved having to set up VPNs and stuff to bypass, I don't think I'd bother trying.
