As Bad As Harvey Weinstein?

I was watching the BBC Harvey Weinstein documentary and found it to be rather disturbing. But it got me wondering are people who look at porn as bad as him. Are us porn addicts on the same level as rapists and those commit sexual assault? I see some fapstronauts are mad about Me Too, is that because fapstronauts think they're the same as those being accused by those involved in Me Too?

Rape isn't in the same league. It's a completely different ballgame.

They are using force/coercion on a non-consenting individual.

There are some cases where watching starts rising to that despicable level though. Child porn involves a non-consenting participant by definition, so viewers of that are sort of supporting that evil by proxy. Another example is where organized crime forces vulnerable/trafficked women to act in pornography, so same kind of deal. Hidden camera stuff also starts getting into that territory in my opinion, but at least it doesn't leave the victim feeling violated or scarred for life unless she finds out.

Now I'm sure there are arguments for why a "consenting" porn actress isn't really consenting (based around philosophical/economic arguments using broader definitions of freedom), but I don't buy into those because they generally arise from agenda driven academic wankery.

Just stay away from porn and you don't have to worry about whether you're on par with a guy who had literal sex slaves.

One of the thoughts instrumental with my decision to leave porn behind and support others to do the same is because I agree with the op. I started to think how many of these women would genuinely choose the life of making porn over say finding love or supporting themselves through any other type of 'normal' life..? I've no statistical research to support my conclusions but basically I thought not many, when I used to watch porn I could see the discomfort, displeasure and fakeness in the faces of the females, even though I wasn't watching anything extreme. So yeah it's not seen as criminal, actually probably normal, but it's a dark murky world full of exploitation and unhappiness in my opinion.
