Is exercise the solution to flatline/depression/feeling down?

    Hi everyone,

    Was feeling mighty distracted during revision for my exams and frustrated that the mind fog has'nt lifted for me since DAY 1 and i was growing impatient waiting for the benefits of Nofap to magically rain on me and all that and suddenly i discovered something.

    I discovered how to listen to my body amidst all the thoughts on [sex sex and more sex](/nsfw).

    My body felt like it just craves and yearns movement and exercise. Though i hardly encounter boners these few days due to flatline, my mind just doesnt seem active and refreshed either so each revision session just seems frustrating.

    So long story short, i got off and went swimming. And wow i do feel refreshed. A good 1 hour invested to sharpen the saw.

    So my question or comment to you guys is this: IS exercise really the solution? It took a full 3 weeks for me to get my body "itchy" enough to get some exercise (and it has been ages since i last exercised).

    If it is, Get pumping, do something!

    Things will hit you at different times. Exercise is a prevalent one from what I draw and it was important for me too.

    I've also started to listen to my body. It has told me different things such as sleep more, go out in nature, shut off fluorescent lights at night, stay away from the computer (not limited to PMO), get out ans socialize, sing, go talk to ______ girl, and to avoid/ partake in alcohol. Things come and go. I think listening to your body is something that fappers don't do and non--fappers are getting better at.

    But yeah, exercise is great.... do it.

    I missed exercising for 3 days in a row and I didn't do any yoga, meditation was crappy at best and I drank alcohol. After that I was anxious, nervous, self deprecating, low self esteem, and all that stuff.

    Later that day I resorted to P subs and edging. I got back onto yoga exercise and meditation.... urges have subsided.

    Exercise releases chemicals known as Endorphins, which make you feel good! That is why exercise improves mood and alleviates the blues. read up about it.

    The best is exercising in a regular/daily basis. Even a few minutes a day make a lot on your mood.

    Something related to exercising: does someone see a correlation between fatigue and pmo for him/herself?
    There is a moment between exercice and taking a shower where i need to lie down, and if feels like a mistake because temptation comes back at me.
    Something to be careful about if it is so.

    anyone want to explain to me while today when I went for the first run of the season with my dog I was so happy?

    When I walked through the trails I couldn't help but notice how beautiful nature was, and how fresh the air smells. Oddly enough I would always refuse to go on trail walks prior to nofap because their was not prevalent interest. I now have a sudden connection, and happiness towards nature. Seems like it might be relevant to quiting porn, and dopamine.

    It's very good that you are feeling an interest in anything other than porn! You should leverage that and use that to get the good highs (as against the artificial and addictive highs of P).

    Exercise is THE solution to depression and brain fog and even guilt sometimes.
    I strongly recommend to all you guys that whenever you PMO go for a run or swim generally aerobic exercises until you get tired depends on how in shape you are and then take a shower after and you feel refreshed.
    although sometimes it's hard to do so cause you are sad and feel guilty but it all goes away after exercise and better than that it kinda cleans the brain fog

    How about yoga for meeting other women, and a form of exercise while on NOFAP?
