Makes sense ... sarcasm is a higher form of intelligence ...

If you learn a new language, comedy in the new language is the highest form of expression. Hence why in our multilingual forum half the jokes are misunderstood.

 

General pedantic pretentiousness drives me nuts. Like, someone responding to a point in a discussion in an extremely condescending way, that isn't technically a violation of TOS, but really pretty much is. And their point is usually wrong or completely inaccurate/without nuance anyway. It's the combo of being pretentious and condescending while also being wrong which is a doozey.

The weirdest/funniest thing I think I've seen was a few a year and a half ago or so, and there was a male porn star on the forum who I think was trying to reboot. He posted a thread saying that while working out his beard touched his upper chest and he got an erection, and wanted to know if that made him gay. lol

That was probably me lol. The comment was only semi-serious but I have to point out that her pic was a really sexy dating app style photo to the likes of which, I'm sure, you the dear reader of this sentence have fapped more than once.

 

I don't know if this qualifies, but I remember a guy here asking people not to judge him and then he proceeded to reveal that he molested his brother while he was sleeping and made it seem like he was the victim and not his brother. I clicked off the thread in disgust.

 

Hm... then how about this? I remember a success story where this guy said that increased female attraction from long streaks was real. Which was fine, of course, until he started making all these extremely far-fetched claims on how women were reacting to him. He said that he was getting women all the damn time. "Virgins would beg to lose their virginity to me". "Exes started calling me up". "Women would want to cheat on their man with me". Etc.

 

If you're a university lecturer in South Korea then it was you, if you're not then it wasn't.

 

I consider anyone continuously and mindlessly asking for help without reading the answers to be inherently not intelligent.

 

You remind me of a user jeflemz whose journal shows he’s in “ goldfish mode”.

 

I remember a post from a guy asking for advice on how to get with this girl who had a boyfriend and based on his story, the girl wasn't all that into him. In fact, it sounded like he was harassing her (although her actions didn't help). When people were telling him to back off because she wanted to stay with her boyfriend, he refused to accept that advice because he was convinced that they were meant to be together.

In other words, he asked for advice, got it the best advice people could give him, then refused to accept advice he didn't like.
