Any atheists, non-believers doing NOFAP ?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Sep 13, 2019.

  1. Hi, I just wanna know If there's some atheists doing NOFAP in this forum. Why are you doing NOFAP ? Is it a religious thing in the first place ? and what is your motive ?

Speaking for myself, NOFAP isn't just for religious people, you need to do it even If you're atheist because it will help you became more successful in your life, and you will have much more time to do useful things. Instead of sitting in front of your computer masturbating.

So, please write down in the comments why are you doing NOFAP.

agnostic-atheist here. The adverse effects of the addiction were reason enough to quit in hopes for a better quality of life.

    That's pretty much it.

Are there any agnostic fapstronauts here for moral reasons?

Refined further: Do any feel to undertake this anti-hedonistic journey on the basis of it being against their innermost values or conscience?

  4. Yes that what I'm talking about, you don't need to be religious in order to do it.

What are your reasons for doing NOFAP ?

Before I was even saved (Christian), I was already quitting that! After 2 months of abstinence and obvious benefits, I felt the presence of God somehow and a feeling of innocence or whatnot and it was bright and hopeful and peaceful and beautiful..then I relapsed back to the usual nightmare. Eventually, that episode of abstinence turned my gnostic view into the Christian liberating truth. Brace yourselves atheist fapstronauts.

  8. Im also doing this without religion. Even though I think religion has the point of deeming pre marriage sex evil as something we should relate to more in modern times. After all the big religions are around for thousands of years and I think they know the Homo sapiens sapiens.

  11. I am an agnostic-atheist. I do NoFap to get rid of PIED. That’s it. To be honest I don’t even have any “moral” objection to porn. I object to it because it messes with our brains. And, to be perfectly honest, I am somewhat annoyed by the “holier-than-thou” attitudes expressed by some users here in regards to human sexuality.

Atheist. I am do thing this because I hurt my wife with my bad habits and that is wrong. Hurting the people that love you is wrong, I do need a god to tell me that.

  13. I've become sort of agnostic as well. I believe God is bigger than religion but that all religions hold a core of divine truth at the same time. Place of birth and culture seem to influence religious affiliation mostly. For this reason I believe different religions all lead to one universal truth. In essence they all say the same thing. They all preach love but the human interference has turned that love into hate and racism. I still very much believe in the distinction between good and evil and moral law. Just look at how the brain is affected by addictions and you will get why most religions have moral law. The concept of 'sin' is there for a reason. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. That's how I've come to see it. Upbringing and place of birth decide what religion you belong to and that's just something I can no longer resonate with. But there is something for sure. I just no longer believe in racist gods and gods that send a message of fear.

  14. Yes. I believe porn has no place in my life. So, I chose this path.

    You're an atheist? :emoji_astonished:

  16. I delved too deep into higher physics. And I have seen the bloodshed caused by brainwashed idiots in the name of God. I don't subscribe to anything out there. I do believe in being human and that's something all religions initially teach you. So you may consider me to be an atheist or a true believer in every religion out there. Both pov are correct.

  17. I am a non-believer as well.
Porn and procrastination have a too big influence on my life.
    Don't get the question.

I see. For some reason I thought you were a Christian. Personally I'm a Christian who likes to flirt with atheism. I do wonder if I grew up atheist if I would be here. Me being opposed to porn was definitely influenced by my religious upbringing.

  19. I am an atheist. I find the religious connotations from some users to be a bit of a distraction if they are proselytizing, but otherwise I couldn't care less what a person believes in or what motivates them to better themselves.

I am having trouble considering this to be an addiction, to honest. Compulsion, yes. There are other issues I want to address before completely ruling PMO out. I can't deny that much of what I hide from the world is related to PMO.

@Torsten Well, in certain areas, that's to be expected. However, hopefully it's not certain users hounding you or not respecting your space in not specifically faith-based threads.

NoFap is definitely a secular group and we're very glad to have you!
