I saw somewhere on the Internet someone write that pornography addiction is a "first-world problem", in the sense that it mainly affects people in developped countries (Europe, North America, East Asia, Australia, New Zealand).

Do you people agree with that ?
If yes, is it a major problem, or at the same (or a lower) level of seriousness as other issues ?

(NOTE: in this context, I'm obviously not using the phrase "first-world problem" to qualify situations like: your phone having low battery and you don't have a wire to reload it, having a too big hand for the tube of Pringles or the guy/girl at Starbucks misspelling your name, which are frustrating, but not serious)

  2. I doubt it, for example im from Croatia yet my country is not considered "first world country" now, sure thing there are almost no active people from balkan on this place, but we can take whole South America or India for example, india is not first world country neither south america consists any of first world countries, yet, the number of members from those countries seem to increase on NoFap.

  3. Actually I think the problem is more with third world countries because of sexual repression and lack of awareness like south asian countries.

Pornography is a problem anywhere it is found. Wealthier countries have more internet access and the people have more free time. So I’m sure pornography can be worse in first world countries. But regardless of where the problem is found it is a problem.

I don't think so. Here is my argument:

The more developed and sexual open a country is, the more Porn Problem. Best example is Japan.
Japan have the problem, that there are many male virgins. The men refuses to search for a women.
I think, because of the open pornography scene. If you have access to porn, your are satisfied and don't have the desire to search for a women.

See countries, where porn is not allowed: Arabian states or north korea. There is a high child rate and the people marriage in early years. The men there want to get marry and are looking for a women, because thats the only way to satisfied their sexual desire.

Yes it is cause well 3rd world countries do have such easy access to porn and I am pretty sure common sense would show you that people in 3rd world countries don't have easy access to food or water or even proper shelter and even clothing so they are too busy trying to stay alive than to try and view porn dude.

    It's a modern problem, not a first-world problem.

My ex who was Hungarian told me one time that trading sex for security was commonplace. I don't know if the more wealthy and lavish men were still indulging in porn but it doesn't seem to me as if its as much of an issue if they can easily get sex just by providing basic needs which are harder to come by there.
