My streaks are getting shorter...

  1. I'm 17. I used to have one or two week streaks a year ago. Now I only have 4-5 day streaks. This is very frustrating because I've been doing nofap for over a year. Any tips?

    I was having good streaks and then all it took was one bad day and I was back to my old ways of PMOing 3 times a day. Keep trying, try with all your might to get past five days and just look at your counter for inspiration. And try to just quit porn, Im on 12 days of no porn and I've only Md twice. Good luck

  4. I'd have to know more to offer any "informed advice". That said, for me, I have to really look at my patterns if I'm stuck in a continually relapse/slip rut. So if, for example, I'm finding that I P-M every night because I'm stressed and bored, then turning all the devices off and putting them in another room might help. I realize I can just go get them, but I create the need for a little more effort to do so (this becomes a speed bump that just might slow me down and get me to think twice). Trying to establish a routine of nightly exercise might help. Taking up a hobby might help--someplace healthy I can park my mind.

  5. It's all about finding out what causes you to relapse.
    Anything you can avoid?
    Lower resistance against urges?
    Do you still think that nofap works?
    You are the only one who may find it out.

    Thanks for the reply!

    I am not exactly sure what made my streaks shorter. Subjectively, it felt like my urge got stronger. I feel like it shouldn't be my mind weakening because I am actually practicing nofap and it should strengthen my mind.

  7. Also sex drives is not a constant, at times it is stronger, at times weaker. As long as you keep connected to your goal, you will be able to return to longer streaks, too.

    Maybe you can try this:

    Every 15 min you write down what exactly you are doing. Use an alarm clock on your smartphone which rings after every 15 min. That should focus your mind on what exactly you do and hopefully you begin to reflect your behaviour and change it instantly. Especially when you are going to watch porn or relaps you can prevent it, just because you get conscious about what you do.
