Please don't say most guys with an internet access don't PMO.

I remember Gary Wilson saying something along the lines of they done a study on college aged males and couldn't find any that were not using porn. Look much more guys who have an internet access PMO than don't.

But that brings me to my question. If most guys with an internet access PMO then why do a lot of guys who do PMO not suffer with PIED.

A few reasons I thought were

They just haven't PMOed enough. When they have PMOed it's been for a quick sexual release and they rarely use it much.

They have had a lot of sexual experience. Because it's said that thing's that fire together wire together. So if you have no sexual experience or hardly any sexual experience then this will basically be alien to your brain.

Another thing I read was there is some guys who are just lucky, who seem to be able to PMO as much as they won't and yet they still don't get PIED.

But yeah I am just wondering how a lot of guys do avoid PIED. Because if the vast majority of guys with an internet access PMO, then how do a lot of guys avoid PIED?

I wondet how many of these guys were accessing it every day? Or multiple times a day? Some people have an addictive/excessive personality that leads to escalation and problems. Some people can keep it as an occasional thing that is not a big deal. That's how I see it anyway.

The difference could likely be in emotional state and past experiences. Those that use PMO to really escape reality (as I did) can get lost in it, through escalation and eventually sexual misbehavior (e.g. doing weird things and developing fetishes). Eventually when I had sex with my wife I wasn't aroused any longer and I was too ashamed to ask her to do the perverted things I saw in P. Eventually I divorced her, then afterwards hired beautiful model-type high-class escorts, only to find out I still couldn't get it up; the problem wasn't with her at all. It had been me all along. I had everything riding on my PMO as escapism, so PIED had already set in long before I really understood that I had it.

If you have a great life and everything is fine, you are happy and you have no bad childhood full of abuse (like I had) or other life trauma's, then it's likely people will engage far less in PMO, or when they do.. they have far shorter 'sessions' and use it more of an 'extra' than a true escape.

I'm not sure but that seems to be part of the picture for me. And of course, I'm only using my own experiences, and those that I've read about here on the forums as source.

Why doesn't all guys develop PIED?
    I think it's a growing problem.
I also think it has to do with sexual development.
I didn't have sex in real life until I was 19.
I had already being PMO once or twice a day since I was 13.
By the time I was having sex with real women I was already damaged I had conditioned myself to orgasm primarily through PMO.

Also I think PMO behaviors differ greatly for different guys.
I developed a preference for edging.
I would begin by M to one image
I would M very fast until I felt myself almost O
I would stop and slowly maintain my erection while I searched for a new image/scene
When I found something I liked I would repeat the process again

This was in a pre-internet time
I was either keeping pictures out of magazines or newspapers in my secret stash
or I had recorded programs from tv featuring scenes that I would fast forward to
By the time I was 15 masturbation sessions could last for hours
As a result of my fast M style, preference for P images over real women, and edging behavior I had developed DE.

I think a lack of sexual intimacy with real girls leads to a preference for PMO during formative years
By then your arousal/erection/ejaculation response gets conditioned to P
Real sex is strange and unusual to that response system

Also using PMO our senses are focused very much on sight
It's to a person that is external to us
During real sex we experience dramatically different sights and sensations
We have become psychologically conditioned to PMO
