While we have decided that excessive caffeine is not good for many of us, are you trying to eliminate caffeine or get an awareness of how it shows up in your life?

No caffeine is a fine goal, if it is truly your goal and not something someone told you you should do. Perhaps decaf will be a good switch for you. I have been able to be aware of my caffeine intake and seem to be able to moderate as needed. But, it is a drug. And I can use it to excess if I’m not careful. Coffee is also a big ritual for me. It is part of my morning ritual, and I do not leave the house in some sort of caffeine induced mania. I make a cup of half caff about 10 am and that does me for the day.

Listen to your body. When we learn to listen to our body and we follow our intuition we take better care of ourselves. It sounds like caffeine is a red flag for you right now. I’m glad you were paying attention! You are taking good care yourself and that is the bottom line. Keep searching! The answers are always within

Completely wrong. Anyone can do this. Its relatively effortless. Like I said, drop your coffee usage by one size every two days and drink as much black tea as you want. When you're on no coffee, do the same with black tea (drinking as much green tea as you want). Then drop the green tea usage as far down as you want.

If you don't have that amount of discipline, and you don't believe it is possible to develop more than that amount of discipline, I would ask if you brush your teeth and/or floss. (If not, I suppose you should start there, first.)

If you have enough discipline for "OMG caffeine withdrawal sucks, you just feel horrible for 4 days" then you can do this far more easily. No "grin and bear it" required.
