I haven’t played a lot of them as an adult, outside of Injustice, but as a kid, while all my friends were nuts about Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat, my favorite was Killer Instinct.

Super Smash Bros Melee.

 

Have you ever played "Mike Tyson's punchout" to NES ?? It is probably one of the earliest (and most classic) fighting games ever made.

 

Double Dragon, SF2 Turbo, Mortal Kombat 2, Tekken 2 & 3 were mainstays way back when.

 

This game taught me that if I ever get attacked by a huge fat guy, I just have to punch him in the face when his mouth is wide open.
