Hello all. I am 18 years old and have been struggling with porn and masturbation since I was 15. I am so tired of failing and not being able to abstain. I hope that by joining this community I can finally defeat my addiction once and for all. Encouragement would really be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. So glad you are here--it's an "action" that is part of a recipe that leads us to progress and freedom.

  4. Welcome to NoFap @Invictus01
    It
is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.
To get more focus and feel happier with life I recommend you to start doing meditation.. I have been using an App called Headspace for the last two months which is great if you have never meditated before. The first 10 sessions are free if you want to give a try. I used to feel a bit depressed or feeling without energy to start new projects in my life, and meditation has helped me a lot with this.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take new e-course that Mark Queppet launched in his new website, called: " REFORGED MAN: Quit porn and Master Yourself-Be a Man you Admire", it is the updated version of the e-course he used to have in NoFap Academy. It is not cheap ($200) but it is totally worth it because he gives great toold to fight PMO.You can find it here:
    https://courses.universalman.com/courses/reforged-man
You can also join his website called Patreon, where he posts great stuff for free every week, and also you can join the pay area to be part of his weekly video calls where you can chat with them in real life, get coaching and listen to other guys's stories and problems too. You can find it here:
    https://www.patreon.com/home

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.
    Let's keep on fighting

Hi there. I wish I quit when I was 18 man. I'd say do it now so your life doesn't end up on an undesirable trajectory. Good for you taking the first step. Porn addiction is a viscious thing. I will give you some advice, take it or leave it.

Yes it is an addiction but all addicts become addicts by partaking in the substance, or in this case porn. Take ownership of the fact that it was you who started this. Don't play the blame game, that will only thwart your progress.

People might tell you to find something else that excites you. That doesn't work. If you're a coke addict you're not going to all the sudden switch to binge watching Netflix and expect the same pleasures. You use P to get high. You need to change the mentality of wanting to get high. This will be a process, but you are young so maybe it won't take too long. You need to address why you want to get high, and that is to avoid your feelings. Something is eating at you and you need to spend time figuring out what that is. Abstinence without insight or purpose is useless. You must know yourself, find your pain, and make peace with it.

Above all, you must escape the self-defeating cycle of self-hate, shame and guilt. This is what keeps us trapped. You must forgive yourself and stay the course, even if you slip up. Think about it, if you quit for 2 weeks and then have a slip, it's not over. Reflect on what happened, what your triggers were, and get back to abstaining. Always reflect, don't regret.

Best of luck man, I'm here if you need to reach out. I've been through it for 26 years.
