Why does it take 90 days to reboot?

Just curious really. Also does it make you go a bit mad if you abstain from MO for longer like a year?

  2. It's a simple assumption, for me it took 6 months, it depends of many things including how serious and strict you are with your reboot. It's based on things like regained sensitivity, your views on others, your PIED curated etc. No, it doesn't makes you mad, it makes you stronger :~)

Thanks pal. So what after these six months (or however long it takes?) do you never go back to fapping or do it once in a while or literally just hae sex or abstain forever? Sorry I just wanna think of the after care lol

  4. Nah it's perfectly valid don't apologize. Well it all depends of you mate. Some people like me never ever want to masturbate ever again. Some prefer to see it as a renewable challenge. Other had some difficult experience an don't want to do it again. It's your choice.

  5. Yo Kamado,

90 days is just a number. Remember the underlying goal is rewiring and the 90 days number doesnt exist in your brain. The thing is, you can't exactly know when you have rewired. You can hihly assume it. If you have read the book, read the stories you will notice a wide variability of 'time' between guys when they felt the rewiring began to start off.

Some guys reported first positive symptoms after couple months, some after couple weeks or even days. Furthermore, there are much more factors contributing to these benefits like meditation, cold showers, nutrition, exercise. Its not a vacuum. So this makes it hard to determine whether the rewiring is the rewiring from nofap.

How you can best use it I think, is just take the 90 days as a milestone. Because the first steps are often the hardets. After that, the tool has served its purpose and I hope you will be able to automatically not watch porn.

For the masturbation. Once you can masturbate without porn fantasies and pure touch and your own imagination, I think there is no problem in masturbation. For me the no mastrubation will be aan incentive to really go out there and meet girls in real life.

    Key Kamado!

Echoing what's said previously. 90 days has proven to be a sufficient time frame for a majority of people to notice some effect to their brain/habits, the exact number will depend on the individual.

I noticed positive effects after only a week or two in many aspects. Other things are tougher to tackle for one reason or another and they take a little longer.

It doesn't . It took some people up to 9 months but usually you feel much better at 90 days.

Thanks for the informative replies. That has really helped I'm on day 2 previously with two 11 day streaks under my belt. Ideally I never want to do MO again as I have seen the benefits and that's early on! I just thought could you maybe go a bit weird if your holding all that pent up energy in. I know recirculating it helps though .

    Thanks again

    It is an interesting question.

90 days is a solid number to work towards, but i doubt that I will be a different person in 2 weeks.

Abstaining from PMO has got progressively easier, although cravings still come I am getting more used to navigating them. I think the cravings will always come to an extent.

I think there is an emotional layer to addiction that becomes clearer when you abstain. This is true for me. It is the emotional recovery that I am finding quite hard, and it is not linear.

There were some days after the first month when I felt amazing, but then I got plunged back into another round of painful withdrawal. Then I would get totally sensitised to women everywhere for a short while. I keep getting periods of flatline followed by periods of feeling like a dog with 2 d**ks. This is still going on now. Some days I feel like I can't handle my emotions and want to hide away. As for PIED, I wouldn't know because I have not been edging or anything, but I keep getting morning wood.

So all I can say is, for me, it is probably gonna take a while longer than 90 days to get to feeling like myself again, but I have had enough good feelings along the way to tell me that it is all part of the process and I have to just trust it.

I believe it is a slow learning curve.

Its as much about finding new outlets for that energy as it is anything else. NoFap isn't strictly about not fapping, its about replacing the negative things in your life with positive ones. Finding new, healthy habits to replace the old, unhealthy ones. :)
