That depends on your situation because porn can be a substitute for real sex, girls, relationships. So now you're not getting your dopamine hit which was an escape from this harsh reality.
So I wouldn't really call it depression but just some sadness.

You'r rebooting, your body is rebooting.

You're on the right way, keep doing. You are killing the "I need to masturbate to cast out the lonely feeling"

Keep doing man, don't give up.

  4. I could be, that your porn consumption was a way to fight those anxieties in the first place. Remember that an addiction is not about the porn but it is about whatever you are compensating with it. Rebooting brings those kind of things up and gives you the chance to face it, that't the hard part I guess.

Like the guy above me said you had porn to deal with reality.
Truth is, life is miserable and fucked up. We're all addicted to something.
Some are addicted to working out, working and making money which can be quite productive addictions.
And others are addicted to Netflix, Porn, Eating or other loser addictions.
Everybody has their own way to cope with reality. Don't think life will be all flowerish positive after quitting porn.

I would say the PMO is like sweeping the anxiety and depression under the carpet, and now that you aren’t getting the regular hits anymore the issues are becoming louder. I know it’s hard but try to look at the bright side, the pain is a call for you to become a better version of yourself, and to bring yourself back into alignment. Things get worse before they get better but you’ll come out stronger in the end. You have to substitute the porn for something, even walking barefoot on the sand or in nature can relieve anxiety and depression. Hang in there dude! We’re all on the same journey.

I don't know how addicted were you, but if you were addicted for long time and frequency of misuse was high, you will most likely experience mood swings, swinging between deep depression and euphoria in the first 3-4 months of recovery when brain tries to rebalance it's chemistry to baseline. It's not much you can do about it (except daily exercise, proper sleep and diet), but to be aware of it and stay patient. This shit takes time. Even after 3-4 months you might still feel depressed/anxious as your brain might enter chronical dopamine deficiency state (dopamine baseline below normal) called anhedonia, but you'll worry about it when you get there. Just hold on for now, things do get better over time.
