Urges at night

    About 99.9% of all my relapses have come at night just before i go to bed. The typical scenario would be me going to bed and using my tablet to surf the net or read and then get bored which then leads to pmo. I would love it if any one could proved some tips that they have used or share their experience and how they beat it.

    I totally feel you man. A long hard battle. Struggly with night time urges myself and 90% of my relapses are at night as well. Try meditation, or getting out of bed and reading a book (no tablets, phones - a print book) if you are having urges. Work on sleep hygiene. "Say Goodnight to Insomnia" can help by Gregg D.     stop using tab before bed, or,
    put a motivational quote wallpaper in your tab, download the nofap panic button app.
    OR.....
    If you still feel like you wanna use tab with internet on at night, then come to nofap forum and encourage others to not to relapse....(works for me!)

    plug in the headphone in your tab and start listening to some motivational or devotional stuff..(always works for me)

  5. It's important to try and mix things up, and do things differently. After all, nothing's going to change if you do nothing to change your behaviours, particularly those where triggers occur most. I'd advise that you try to read a book as an alternative, perhaps. You need to lose the tablet-browsing at night, if that's where you struggle.

    Read paper books or kindle in bed.
    It's also better for your brain to read books than to surf the web. It improves concentration and focus. I've been doing this for 10 days now, I have three books in my bed I read them alternatively.
    I find it good to have no electronics in bed.

    My suggestion is stop using the tablet in bed, bed is for sleeping. If you cant sleep get up and read a book or play a game or something, preferably a real book not an eBook. Screens actually disrupt our circadian rythm which makes it harder to sleep especially when we are in front of them right before bed.

    What you just described is exactly me , well ... the old me . What helped me get rid of this habit are 2 things :
    1. my tablet was stolen . I have to thank that thief because he really helped me in this as it is hard to get my laptop with me to bed ... So you should either get your tablet stolen or just force yourself to charge it in another room at night . Give it to someone for a couple of days if necessary .
    2. I developed an awesome habit of working out for at least 15 minutes before going to bed (now I've increased it to 30) . You will be too tired to even hold your tablet with your hands lol . I have a couple of dumbbells at home , so I do pushups and many workouts with dumbbells .
    If you can buy a couple of dumbbells , you will never regret it . Trust me , mine are about 6 years old now and they are my best friends :)

    Charge your tablet in another room! And work out before bed. The goal is to make yourself too exhausted to relapse or slip, without using screens.

  11. I am in the same boat, pretty much all of my slips and relapse have happened at night. Sadly I am a Diabetic and my blood sugar often keeps me up for hours into the night trying to manage it down to a safe number before I can finally get to sleep. Right now I am holding things together by spending time on nofap and trying to get writing work done when ever I have the inspiration and time.

    You're definitely not alone in these struggles. My urges and fantasies generally come quite strongly when I'm already in bed trying to get to sleep, and that's when I kind of convince myself that to get to sleep I'll need to PMO.

    But everyone elses advice is pretty wise - avoid technology before bed. Listen to calming music maybe - do something that makes you sleepier, and perhaps try being really strict with yourself and setting a firm time when you'll go to bed and turn everything off.
