Handicapped By PMO For A Long Time

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Freeddom_Taker, Nov 3, 2019.

  1. Almost a decade since I haven't been able to enjoy myself socially whether in a party, in a group class or play ball w/ people. Pmo kill my night life for years. Now I'm on a hard reboot trying to save my life.

Dude - I blew nearly 10 years of my life on PMO, and became increasingly withdrawn and anti-social and nearly lost my family. Stopping has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. It's not easy, but you have everything to gain - everything. Hang tough. Every day your brain is slowly retraining itself, and you're building new neuro pathways. The future is so much better than the past!!!

  4. It's not so much urges that I have to worry about. It's the reboot that got me confused like I don't know what to do with my life.

  5. Tell me more about it man...
How long it took for your brain became clear?

Hi man, I think the secret in getting this journey beneficial and get good results is to be patient. While you are patient and have a faith in yourself, everything will become much easy. I promise you.
Don't blame yourself for any thought you have. Just accept it and move on. Try to build a strategy how to take your life to a better place than you feel right now.
Try to imagine in your mind a beautiful life where you are a one with your dreams. I mean, try to imagine your life when your dreams come true. I promise you that this will make you feel better and probably will give you high load of motivation to increase yourself.
    Best of luck dude!

They say taking pmo out of your life is good, but what really matters is what you add to your life. I don't know who they are, but I'm sure they're smart. Actually I think Noah Church said that. Anyway, it can be pretty frustrating finding out what to do with your life. It's your choice though, because it's your life. We all have that responsibility for ourselves. We're all in this together.

  8. It's not so much of getting to a goal. the thing is the reboot deregulate me physically. I couldn't move due to nerves tissues damage from the back area to the nervous system. It even affect my vision and cause confusion.

  9. 450 days off pmo and I still feel depressed or lose touch with the real world. I still have PIED, back pain, anhedonia, brain fog, nerves tingling sensation in various parts of my head. It's like I lose interest in romantic relationship or moving forward with my life.
I feel confused whether it's the reboot or something else?

  10. I used to play ball with some school mates back in the days in my early 20's. Today I went to play there and found one of them. He said he never seen me for a long time which is true. And asked me "what am I doing with my life now?"
I had to tell him I've been sick for a while. Dude got a wife and kids now and seem doing well.
Meanwhile I was thinking how pmo ruin my life to the point I have nothing.

  11. Yes, it's a sad realisation I also went through.. wasted a decade on pmo and other addictions..
But we can't change the past, we can only start today doing better things, focussing on good goals for a better guture and a better today. Best wishes man

  12. Yeah it's the same thing I'm experiencing now. Don't know whether to go up or down. Reboot seems to stall...
I feel I'm functioning with low brain capacity. I still have head pressure, brain fog, social isolation, and recurrent constipation.
It seems I identify with the situation I'm in and no way out.

I suggest you to be a volunteer doing social works helping other people in your neighborhood or local area.
Please giving love, take care of people. Then you will see your life change so much.

I recommend you read the book "The Diamond Cutter" of Geshe Michael Roach. In the end of that book, there is a Chinese man Jin Huang (his company is Aiven, a stationary and office stuff provider, you can even see his website) on who shared and taught others about the law of cause and effect (law of karma). After several meetings, conferences he realized his mind has become sharper.

  17. Yeah I've seen this thread.
Constant pmo for a longtime is no joke which I'm still suffering for.....

I'm currently trying to get rid of it but the withdrawals were insane and slow down a lol bit. The effects damaged my lower back and couldn'teven stand straight or go to work.
You might check out my threads talking about some of the symptoms.

  18. Guys, when reflecting on my past concerning pmo, I think I got my ambitions and drives killed by doing pmo heavily in late teen till now. I used to be pretty much a driven dude even in school. Now it seems I lost my identity.

Dude, I'm sorry that PMO took so much away from your life, but don't be a victim. For your own sake, do not let this habit control you. It controlled you when you were a teen, and now you have self defeating thoughts left in your head. "Now it seems I lost my identity." "Got my ambitions and drives killed." Those things may be true, but it doesn't help you to hold onto those thoughts and make them part of your identity. They are separate from you. Focus on doing what you love and don't look back. I mean, look back if you're learning about yourself and it helps, but otherwise focus on doing what you love or try things to figure that out. You have one short life and you don't want to wake up one day realizing that you spent most of your life dwelling on things in the past that have already happened and you have no control over. Who would want that?!

  20. It didn't kill my teenage years. But it messed up my 20's.
