  2. How long have you stopped smoking for? Do you still crave it?

I used to smoke for 10+ years. I quit by the Allen Carr easymethod - which essentially was basic hypnotism to NOT MISS NICOTINE at all. And it damn well worked a treat.

However, i would venture that you need to be confident that your smoking pangs are well under control to also take an reboot. No green-light here to cave into either! Addiction recovery is hard, especially after the initial euphoria. But you could see both addictions as part of your former self and take on both together. That would be a lifetime achievement and one you could be truly - and forever - proud of.

  3. Sorry to say, in my own experience quitting PMO is much harder than the smokes. I smoked varying amounts for 10 years, depending on whether I was trying to give up or not.

The Allen Carr book is really good and has worked for a lot of people. Once the nicotine cravings pass, it becomes much easier.
It is also the case that avoiding certain situations where you may be tempted is easier.

Compare that to PMO, for which there will be always situations when you can do it, and also many substitutes out there. I don't think the urges ever leave due to the need for sex... the optimum we want is to manage it in a healthy way.

I second your opinion 100%, man!

  5. I agree too.

There are several ways to combat nicotine - ultimately it is a foreign stimulant which we have to learn to like/get hooked.

But PMO, has the masquerade of being natural. From pubescene, boys start wanking. It’s when they indulge in the abundance of P, then it become just so much easier than keeping a real partner.

This is an important thread. I’ve combated two addictions in my life, but PMO is indeed the hardest to kick.

Quitting nicotine was darn hard, although made much better by the Allen Carr book which ‘gave the keys’

Are there magic keys for our reboots?

I agree nicotine is very hard to quit but overall it was way easier than porn which is actually scary because there is an unlimited amount of free porn out there! STAY STRONG BROTHER

I would the same goes for quitting porn as does quitting nicotine you can't just say you are stopping you have to want to stop and resent your vice.
