    I couldn't decide where to post this. It just seems like a topic all its own.
    I belong to the SOS group. My husband is a PA.

    Is watching porn but not masturbating a thing? I always thought that people watched porn in order to masturbate. I guess I'm clueless in this area. I'm just trying to make sense of a few things.

    Hi there,

    I think a lot of people masturbate while watching porn. However, I have seen many people on these forums say that they frequently watch porn without masturbating. There are also some people who intentionally watch porn without masturbating because somehow they think the problem is the masturbation (rather than porn).

    I personally never understood why. For me porn and masturbation go hand in hand.

    It's a fact that porn is the root of the problem and often leads to compulsive masturbation. So one should completely stop watching porn if they really want to recover from porn induced sexual disfunctions and other porn-induced problems such as crazy fantasies and fetishes, lack of intimacy, depression, etc

    I'm done with watching porn. I will only allow myself to watch porn is when I'm sitting next to a hot girl and she wants to watch it together
    with me so we can act it out in bed right away.

    I cannot help you @curiousjo with personal experience because for me, like for @Optimum Fortitude, porn was all about edging slowly, ever-so slowly, to orgasm through masturbation. I think that is why giving up masturbation has helped me to give up porn (explained here).

    But, as @Optimum Fortitude points out, there are lots of men here who 'enjoy' watching porn without masturbating. Here are some threads you may find useful:
