My porn addiction will be my testimony.

Shame is so powerful. It makes us powerless. Since the age of 8, when I first saw a pornographic image, I’ve been stuck in this “bondage” ever since. I am from a Christian home and sadly topics on lust have been taboo, even with the prevalent demon of lust running through our family. My grandfather (who I never met) had many sexual relations outside of marriage with my grandmother. My uncles have many kids out of wedlock. It’s even running rampant our generation, and it is killing us. I’m sure this is the story for many families all over the world. What I’m trying to say is, lust has been running in my family..it ends with me. I refuse to let my kids suffer under this generational challenge.

My relationship with P has been quite long, even at this young age of 17. I started really watching it when I was 11. At the end of 2018, I’ve been on and off. I would go a month without P but soon would relapse...mostly due to “triggers”. I joined this platform to allow myself to accept that I have a pornography addiction, I am removing the shame. I am breaking the chains.

I believe God will use my story and this breakthrough to allow me to become the best version of myself that he wants me to be. I trust in you God. Bring upon me a spirit of self control. I humbly repent for the sins I have repeatedly done even when I knew it was wrong. I will not overcome this only by my flesh and my might, only by the Holy Spirit. He began a good work in me and will see to its completion. Thank you Lord for this platform. Thank you Lord for the brothers that I will meet along the way, who will mound me into the man You want me to be. I will not fight this battle by my own strength because I do not have the power to sustain it. I completely surrender my efforts to you of God.
