The quickest way to reboot is to give your brain a rest from artificial sexual stimulation—porn, porn fantasy, browsing dating apps or Craigslist, and erotica. For some, a temporary time-out from masturbation and orgasm is also helpful. Many guys eliminate or drastically reduce orgasms during their reboot period (men with sexual performance problems tend to do this). On the other hand, sensual contact with a real person can be beneficial, as long as you don’t fantasize about porn. In fact, some guys engage in gentle intercourse, in which they avoid getting close to the edge of orgasming.

      • Avoid behaviors that mimic your porn addiction. Which usually means behaviors that substitute the synthetic and the two-dimensional for the real deal.

      • Eliminating artificial or synthetic means don’t engage in “cam to cam” or chat rooms.
      • Surfing Facebook, dating apps, YouTube, Craig’s List or similar sites for pictures and sexual stimuli is like an alcoholic switching to lite beer.

      • Fantasizing about porn is nearly the same as watching it, as you are re-activating your brain’s Pavlovian conditioned response.

      • Reading “erotic” stories counts as porn fantasy.
When you remove a source of pleasure from the brain, it is like taking away the leg of a table. The whole thing becomes rocky and unstable. The brain really has two options: one, to make you hurt like hell in every way it can think of to ‘encourage’ you to put the table leg back again, or two, to accept that the table leg is really gone, and figure out how to re-balance without it. Of course, it tries Option One first. Then, after a while, it starts to get to work on Option Two, all while still pushing Option One in the meantime. Eventually, it seems like the brain re-balances, giving up on Option One, and fully succeeding at Option Two.

When you remove one source of dopamine (porn) it’s vitally important to replace it with other, healthy sources of dopamine. As you consider which additional tools to try, keep in mind that heavy porn use is actually a synthetic substitute for the activities that naturally help keep your brain in balance. Not surprisingly, the most common tools employed include exercise, time in nature, creative activities, meditation, a healthy diet, and socializing. Some of these naturally rewarding activities you can do by yourself, while others require human interaction.

You have to know that The most important thing is to Don’t stay inside your head for too long. Don’t dwell on any negative feelings for a prolonged period of time. Experience it, feel it fully, and then move on. Stay PRESENT focused whenever possible. Do not obsess over the past.

Finally, try not to get too rigid about this healing process. Make your motto “Persistence not perfection.” Be gentle with yourself. Rebooting is a funny thing. The people who do it the most smoothly keep a sense of humor, accept their humanness, love sex, respect their sexuality, and gradually steer themselves into a new groove. They don’t bludgeon themselves or threaten themselves with doom. Sex is a very fundamental drive. It’s best to ease your way through this shift, to forgive yourself if you slip, try again, and so forth.

in conclusion, Motivation is temporary. You can watch a Nike football commercial on YouTube, get all pumped up and motivated, and then relapse 4 days later. It means nothing. So preparation and knowing what you are dealing with is the key to overcome this addiction.

"Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness." ~ Napoleon Hill

    Stay Blessed.

Nice saying, that's also what I thought.
Another tip: Some people may think playing games can help divert the mind from porn, but that's not true. As far as I am concerned, each time I play a game, I will relapse on that day or the day after that day.
I think there are several reasons.
First, when you play a game, you may spend a bunch of time playing it and sitting. However, sitting for a long time can result in blood accumulation in the lower part of the body. In that case, it's easier for you to ejaculate than usual.
Second, some games have elements of violence and sex. Some people think we are adults, that's a restriction for kids. But they can really affect your subconsciousness. The concept of violence and sex will corrupt your brain without your awareness.
Last, playing game can open your "entertainment system", it will slowly destroy your self-control.

excellent remarks, I would give you one more tip: whenever you get any encouragement to relapse say stop, out loud or in your mind without allowing your wishes to increase

That's great advice. I always think that saying STH out loud can really enforce the things you really want to do. I'm gonna put it in my spreadsheet. Thanks
