NoFAP 4 months

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Deleted Account, Nov 16, 2019.

  1. Start this with saying I broke my streak tonight and figured now would be a good time to report what I’ve learned. I joined this site years ago 4-5, but only took it seriously about 2 years back. I’ve had some 100+ day streaks followed by intermittent 13-20 day streaks. Each time I’d fall, each time I’d get back up.
Starting 232 days days ago I have relapsed 4 times, my most recent streak being 132 days. I use to PMO four times in a day sometimes before Nofap.
I could make this a long post listing all the great things but what’s more important I've found is the continuing mastery of ones self. The deeper I’ve gotten into this the more I’ve begun to realize it’s really not about porn at all.. it’s about finding freedom and self empowerment. And sometimes, without all the jargon and ideologies and ethics it can simply boil down to just being really horny and not having the proper methods to regulate it.
NoFAP works, it takes time and for someone like me who has been hooked since a young child it takes a lot and a lot of persistence. I have seen my use decrease to almost nothing... almost. I will reach that goal although that day is not today I know I’m progressing closer and closer.
And now to reevaluate, adjust, and begin once again.

Brother what u suggest to live life full during nofap journey or to focus more on nofap and restrict ourselves on other areas?

Works either way - it depends on where you are mentally. You could leave me stranded on a deserted island with only a laptop w/ neverending batteries, and I still wouldn't look at P or touch myself at this stage.

But I am asking you: won't living a "minimalist" life leave you with plenty of time on your hands to struggle, obsess about PMO?

Being distracted helps tons. Full days, even if they are "cheat days", are just as fine as those in which you fight to exercise self-restraint: one more day that weakened the old pathways in the brain that were strengthened in the past by bad habits.

So, yes, I'd recommend you to find good ways to use your time. Even getting some sunshine helps.

  8. My last streak I relapsed around the same time, I agree that its always a constant learning process and we need to be very conscious and aware and slip ups can happen if you do not have the mechanism to deal with this huge surge of energy. Congrats on your streak and good luck in your journey!

  10. Thanks for all the love everyone, It truly means a lot.

@Warrior xxx :-) Id recommend a more fulfilling life personally. Focusing on your NoFAP challenge in the beginning is immensely helpful but what will happen after about 50 days is those benefits, clarity of mind, and extra energy will become your normal and you won’t notice it as much and you’re overall sexual energy will be more stored up. So transforming that energy into other areas will become a must, and even then you still might have an off day, but the good news is is that porn will no longer have that WOW/compulsive factor that it once did. You’ll see it and be like, I can’t believe I just fapped to this, it’s a joke. What a waste. At least for me this last time that’s what it was, waste of my time.
