I live a life worth living since quitting porn

I haven't used pornography or engage in compulsive sexual behavior in seven years. I never thought I would make it past six months of sobriety. The moment I decided to quit I went through withdrawals and it was absolutely terrible. But, I had a community of support. I found myself in 12 step fellowships that helped me understand I wasn't alone. One day at a time I stayed away from past behaviors that caused me to harm myself and others. There are still those days that a random image of porn shows up in my mind, but it quickly moves on. I don't ruminate on my former acting out behaviors. I stay committed to my programs of recovery. I reach out for help when needed. And I help others who are suffering from compulsive sexual behavior. That's how I have stayed sober for seven years. Recovering in isolation doesn't work. Recovering in a community does. I am grateful NoFap is here. Today, I am married with two beautiful kids, a thriving business, and a wealth of love and compassion from a chosen family who supports my recovery from compulsive sexual behavior. I am right where I want and need to be.
