    Heyo!
I wanted to share a special calendar/counter I have made and some good things about this method. Check out the picture below in the link or in the attached file.

    If you get confused -

Blue squares are P free days
Yellow squares are Gaming free days (none exist)
Green squares are both P and G free days
    • A little black triangle at the top right of the square is a M.O free day

So as you can see -
I started out with only P reboot,
On day 25 I started combining M.O rebooting
On day 39 I started combining a Video Gaming reboot, up until now.

I have also marked the 90 days mark for each one - P, G, M.O.

I think this is a great thing to do when starting this journey. Why?
    1. You can see your progress visually rather than just a number, which I think is better for the sense of accomplishment and for not wanting to erase all of the progress!
    2. You can set your goals there clearly before your eyes. Once you have set them, it's kind of like they're set in stone.
And making a new calendar is not acceptable
*For me, my stuborness of keeping THIS calendar and not making a new one was also a big part of a guranteed success.
    3. It's quite fun to create it (kind of like a project), and it's really fun to come after a few days or a week after being busy with other stuff, and to realize that you can mark all of those days!

hi, can you share how exactly you avoided P and M ? and Video games ?

because all this progress seems very linear - which means you have solid methods to stop yourself from using. so what is it ?

    Hi,
First of all September 1st was a date in which I decided for real to make a change because my life was becoming unbearably painful (If I conducted a calendar of the months before, it would be seen as a disaster lol).

Porn was the first thing to go, and the thing that helped me the most was stubornness, a strong will power, and a fierce decision no matter what (to this day even).

However I saw that I had been replacing it with video gaming, and after a few weeks of binging , i realised that its hindering my recovery because I am only cheating myself here. Then I decided to make a stop and start a counter for that as well.

M.O started also somewhere along the line before that.

The best technique for me is to remain strong in the mind, letting going slowly of other escaping methods which naturally try to replace P (games, m.o, social media), and agreeing to face the nasty stuff that i have been avoiding for decades.
As big as the pain inside may be, porn is not an option anymore, nor is M.O and video games.
When we learn to be there during the nastiest and most painful experiences and feelings instead of running away, the neurological pathways change and the addictions get weaker. WE get stronger.

Oh and instead of playing the warrior or the hero in the video games, we develop a warrior mindset in our own lives.
That attitude is really useful in my opinion.
