In my experience I seemed to have an estrange relationship with weed or any other drugs and PMO. I realised that most of my PMO sessions were accompanied by some short of substance and possibly my frontal lobe was even more unable to take charge, almost as if by getting wasted I made sure that any chance for me to think that PMO was a bad idea was shot down. During my previous attempts at rebooting I tried to stop PMO without stopping smoking they were very difficult (46 days was my best) until I made the connexion and decided to stop smoking first. I have been now 26 days clean since I stopped the weed and everything is so much easier and smoother (meditation helps a lot, of course you can't really meditate stoned although I would try everyday).

Definitely I will avoid smoking on my own to avoid that pattern again. I am glad I am not doing any other drugs. Porn and cocaine were the most appealing, I realised that I have must fried by brain with dopamine in the past.

That is exactly my experience - alone at home smoking weed invariably leads to long/repeated PMO sessions. I feel like I have almost no control over it whatsoever and that the downtime between sessions is drastically reduced. I haven't smoked in 2 months and I know I can't go back if I want to break the porn cycle.
However, if I'm doing something active and outdoors - skiing, biking, camping, swimming, etc.- weed doesn't trigger PMO urges at all. It's just in the context of being at home with access to porn.

  3. Yes indeed! I've stopped smoking cannabis completely and I'm very glad I have. It was a Pavlovian trigger for PMO for me. Like Wylie, I hope not to go back to it.

Great going on 61 days by the way, you should be very proud. :)

You are 100% right. That's been exactly my experience. I had a little weed with a friend a couple of days ago after a couple of months without smoking. I actually enjoyed it and did not experienced any urges to watch porn. But I think it would have been very different if I was home alone. I realised that and did not take any weed with me when this friend offered me some, this is been the longest I have been clean so far and the thought of ruin it because of being wasted made paranoid (in a positive way). Stay strong!.
