    Hello people
I am 25 but I feel like i am older
I used to be in good shape mentally and physically, but now I feel like i have been off forever and i am aging so fast, last 3 years impacted my life more than the 22 years before.
I think the cause is my addictions
    -Porn
    -tobacco (i smoke a lot)
    -internet (mainly youtube)
    -weed
    -mental medications
I stopped my medications, 3 days of NoFap, I smoked the weed i had (throwing didn’t seem right) but i am not buying again, i am planning to go cold turkey with all but smoking is a tough challenge for me, i have been smoking for 9 years, and to do it cold turkey it require to put me in place where the nearest cigarette is 100km away.
Any advice to help me become clean again!!

I quit tobacco after 7 years and it took several attempts. Cold turkey is truly the only way to successfully do it, but you've got to find something to replace the addiction when coming off for the first six months. Whenever I had a craving I would suck on hard candy or chew some gum. It's a good idea to pick up daily exercise, especially if you're going to try to quit all of your addictions at once. It has been proven that aerobic exercise rewires the dopamine system. Looking back on quitting this was the most significant aspect of my success. Life was dull during withdrawal, but exercise was the key to making me feel better on a day to day basis. It's good you're off cannabis because it goes well with tobacco and you want to be in a sober state of mind so that you're thinking as clearly as possible. Your brain will try all kinds of tricks to get you to rationalize using tobacco again, but stay strong and fight!! I would say if it comes down to it let tobacco be the the non negotiable here as it's the most destructive thing in your list. If you can stop all of these things at once successfully you are one hell of a person.

As far as your sleeping goes take small amounts of melatonin at night (1mg-3mg), dim the lights an hour before bedtime, and use apps like flux to get rid of blue light from your screens.

You are truly strong person to quit that shit, hope you never come back.
if i need to stop smoking i have to be busy so I don’t think about it, and now I spend most of my day doing nothing, it seem impossible to do it cold turkey but I thought of switching to e smoke, I quit for month with no urges, but i got back to regular cigarettes because of weed, now my plan is to quit smoking at all so after 3 months of e-smoking i will start to quit e-smoke also, i hope that my plan go as I expect.
I agree with you on exercises and the benefit of it, i really believe that doing exercises and mediation can be a game changer, i have dumbbells and good bar to do pull ups, for cardio it is too cold outside to run, i can do sports or go to gym to do aerobics, And if i got tiered through my day working out then sleeping become easy.
Plan is there and ready just need the action and the well power to make the plan work, thank you brother your writing was helpful.

If it was just the ciggies id say try going cold turkey but going cold turkey with everything, especially your meds (what were you on and why?)...i dunno it might just be too much. You will struggle for a few days and possibly give in to at least on of them, then you'll be dissappointed with yourself.
I think you need to plan this, say porn wk1, porn+weed wk2, porn+weed+tobacco wk3 or something along those lines. I would think your chance of long term abstinence might be higher this way.
Its just an idea, do as you see fit.
    Good luck!

You are totally true it may be bad idea to do it all at once, but i am already doing this changes for 2 months, i quit my pills 3 weeks ago by reducing the dose gradually, so I feel no withdrawals at all, also weed i have been cutting my dosage for a while now, also if I quit weed i can go back to e smoke, then i can focus on one addiction and that will be pmo, also this one it is not enjoyable now because i used to do it when i am high, and i can stay away as long as I don’t get high, so i think one thing let to another, and all addictions have the same pattern so if i quit one thing i can quit all, I hope that i am not wrong this time because i am hungry to change and make things right, thank you brother for help and good luck :)

Thanks, I know I won't. It took a lot of trial and error to get to this point for myself. Never feel discouraged when you slip up. You will eventually get it, but always keep in mind that you're saving yourself from some major problems down the road by quitting cigarettes.

In my experience e cigs just prolong nicotine addiction and it was the same with nicotine gum and patches. I don't know what you smoke, but they put in additives to cigarettes to make the nicotine hit you harder. You're going to be miserable no matter what you do, but since you mentioned you have asthma it might be a good idea to just stop inhaling anything that isn't air. Nicotine gum was the most satisfying alternative in my opinion (because you have the action of chewing and it's easy for the nicotine to absorb in the mouth), but it can damage your teeth and gums in excess. Make sure to follow the directions if using it. Still a much better option than inhaling polypropylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and whatever flavorings into your lungs. Nicotine gum is expensive in stores, but you can find it dirt cheap on ebay. Look for Habitrol 4mg on ebay. It's $61 for 384 pieces.

Agree with you on the e cigarettes, but i think the addiction i have is more than the nicotine itself, it is about having cigarette in my hand and blow smoke, you got what I mean.
i had access to many alternative ways to get the nicotine in my blood (gums, patches, etc) i think it is more than that, i need to replace the act of smoking and inhaling, i tried doing pushups every time i am about to light a cigarette or chew a gum, it help replace the act not the substance , i am doing the e-thing to get rid of the act of smoking without putting too much stress on my body so if i can do it successfully i think next step (quiting e cigarettes) will be easier, i am doing too much change to my body and my habits, that’s mean a lot of stress, i prefer to do it by smalls steps rather than put too much stress doing it cold turkey, that may make the relapse reasonable and give me excuses to relapse.
I think the theory of replacing bad habits by good ones and do it gradually is the second best way to kick bad habit (after cold turkey, which requires a lot of willpower that I don’t have now)
I had more serious addictions before, and i am glad to say i am out and forever, professional doctors treat me this way, they replace my substance with other one that give me similar effect but with less harm and side effects, so this substance help me get clean without too much withdrawals, after one month i am still addicted, but now my substance is well study and more easy to rid off. I hope you got what I meant, i am planning to treat my smoking addiction the same way, rather than taking benzo and sleeping pills to help me stay away from speed and alcohol, i will be doing e-smoke to help me stay away from regular cigarettes then if had problems quitting e-smoke i will replace it with gum and so, you got what i mean i have to do it gradually
Thank you again I appreciate your time and help

The habits you describe in your initial post are probably the biggest contributors to accelerated aging, together with lack of exercise and outdoor activities (or lack of fresh-air), doing hard drugs and sticking to a diet with lots of junk-food and sugars.
Keep in mind that all of the habits you described are interconnected, meaning if you have one or two bad habits from the start, you are more likely to develop several others. Smoking, and especially smoking weed are incredibly destructive habits in every possible way. The former as it ruins your physical health and the latter because it sucks all the drive, productivity, motivation and will-power out of you.

Of course the opposite is also true; if you manage to quit and replace one bad habit, more of the bad ones will get easier replaced as well. I used to have much worse quality of my facial skin back during my PMO-days, not only due to PMO but also because I ate more sugary and highly addictive foods.
When comparing pictures from the past few months to those from my PMO-days, I can see a clear change in my physiognomy. Nowadays, my facial skin looks healthy and glows all year round, not only during the summer months.
So, my advice is to start replacing one bad habit at a time with a better one but doing it in increments. For example, if you're smoking one pack a day, step down to half a pack, then five cigs a day, then one and finally replace that one with chewing gum or similar. In that way, you will manage to step it down in steps rather than trying to quit smoking overnight (which will feel harder since that step is a very big one to take).

@Oussama94 I wish had the answers. I will attest that exercise is key. In my opinion working out is the best anti-depressant and anti-anxiety prescription! I work out 5 days a week and in my opinion it's given me a sense of peace and balance in this crazy world, and it's also helping me sleep well (which is another key).

I quit P, M, O, and weed about 2 months ago, all cold turkey. Have never looked back. I cannot imagine myself smoking weed again. Ever.

I've also substantially reduced caffeine and started tapering alprazolam. On October 6 I was taking 2 mg. alprazolam before bed. I've since weaned myself down to .5 mg before bed, and on January 1, 2020, I'll start taking it every OTHER night before bed, and by February 19, 2020 (my 49th birthday), at the latest, I'll be done with alprazolam for life.

Just 2 months ago I was addicted to all of these things and I never thought I could live without them. Well, it's 60 days later, and I AM living without them, and I'm living much better, actually: more confidence, more energy, more happiness, more purpose. Totally worth it.

I wish you peace and strength as you continue to embark on your journey.

  15. I've quit smoking. I was an heavy smoker for just 2 years but I already felt how it really affects me badly. Might be just smoking alone and also fap. Good luck with quitting these. If you want to quit cigs, and I'm sure you do - read Allen's Carr's - How to quit smoking or whatever the name of the book is.
