Haven't watched porn in 2 weeks. The flashbacks of the videos I used to watch keep playing in my mind. It's stressing me.

i am finding that avoiding pornographic thoughts everywhere I go is harder than just not watching porn.

  3. Do not expect those thoughts to go away on their own. I did my basic 90 days and have been up and down ever since. Even if I innocently "check" something that is nonporn but enticing, I might as well PMO right away, because so many times I have given in. Just do your absolute best to stay strong and avoid all images that may trigger you. And if you mess up, learn from it. Good luck.

You have to expect that it will happen to you even after the 90 days. The longer your streak the less it will be played in your head but of course it takes a very very long period of time to get erased from your head. You have to get used to it and you have to expect that it will happen many times especially during the 90 days. In my experience, you can use that to your advantage, how? well, when this happens to you, firstly tell yourself that it's bull***, it brought nothing to me but shame, it destroyed my life, it's not exciting, and it does not turn me on, even if you don't completely believe that but inject these thought into your brain and go do something you really love, of course you have to have a plan, a list of activities, and a list of "why I want to quit?" and most of all your goal/s in life and read them once that happen.

  7. My friend, I'm almost at 90 days and that shit still happens to me.

Today was especially difficult. It seemed that whenever I sat down and tried to study, I had sexual thoughts and porn flashbacks pop into my head every 2-3 minutes. You just keep moving forward.

I am someone who PMO'd twice a day (early morning AND late at night), everyday from ages 18-26. At age 26, November 2016 was when I decided I had enough (see signature/counter for my PMO-free streaks).

I know what it is like to go cold-turkey. Urges are at an all-time high. I am literally shaking, sweating bullets, at the thought of looking something up. The images and sounds are clear in my head just like this keyboard I am typing this on.

I totally get what you are going through. I promise you, the longer you can stay away, the easier it will be to get it. My relapses tend to come in 3's, the chaser effect is real for me. It is perfectly normal for the flashbacks to be playing if you have viewed something recently. It might take longer for some people to get it out their heads.

My advice, please do not worry about the flashbacks. They will pop in there, but to dwell on them will add to the stress you already have. Instead, try to live the life you are meant to live. It will get better the longer you can stay away.
