So I used to be a solid sleeper. Slept like a rock and loved it. A few years back, I had did a "reboot" although I wasn't aware of it. I was on a mission to get healthy, quit a ton of bad habits at once. Didn't sleep for a month but it gradually got better. I remember around 90 days or so in I started sleeping better maybe? It's hard to recall. Then another month or so after that all the anxiety I struggled with for most of my life was gone. It was like I found peace and I was a monk. You couldn't touch me mentally I was so solid. Started back up on the PMO a month or 2 after feeling better. It straight up caused me to go back into withdrawals and I have been struggling so hard for like 3 years. I just recently finally correlated it to PMO. Since I quit on the 1st my symptoms skyrocketed. The anxiety and lack of sleep are wrecking me. I feel like if I could just get a good night of sleep, my body would heal. So do ya'll think I'm in for another 90days or so of sleep trouble? Anything I can do to speed up the healing process? I am abstaining from anything that triggers dopamine release.

Welcome to the club again. Yes, insomnia is bad, for us long term addicts. I needed 4-5 months to start sleeping better. There is not much you can do except aerobic exercise on daily basis and maybe taking Omega-3 fatty acids (I eat fish oil), get plenty of sun when possible plus vitamin B complex, Zn, Ca, Mg, and K supplements. What helped me ease anxiety were also practicing Wim Hof breathing method and taking cold showers (plenty of instructions on YT) and discovering Tao de Jing and living in accordance to stoic philosophy (Seneca, Marcus Aurelius teachings).

Thanks for the tips. I have been going to the gym and doing cardio for the last week. Definitely noticing an improvement there. Oddly, fish oil high in EPA makes my insomnia worse. I do eat tons of salmon though (also researched the omega 3s). I'll try playing with the vitamins again to see if that helps.

One strange thing I noticed is that if I consume a small amount of caffeine in the morning, from like chocolate or something I sleep MUCH MUCH better that night followed upon extreme rebound insomnia and anxiety. I think caffeine is hitting the same part of my brain as PMO.

I just started experiencing insomnia even though I wake up at 8 am every day and try to go to bed at 12. I will stay up all day and not be anywhere near tired until 3am. I can imagine it will just be a new hill to climb and stay strong as to not fall back onto our old ways.
