Addiction to Gay porn for Straight people

Discussion in 'Compulsive Sexual Behavior' started by Oh Susannah -James Taylor, Dec 2, 2019.

  1. I started off 8 years ago only watching lesbian porn. That’s how I’ve spent the most of my porn-watching life but over the past year, I have slowly gotten more curious about gay porn. I watched it a few times and it didn’t really turn me but then all of a sudden, it started turning me on a lot. It felt so wrong and it was so different, and I had been looking for other ways to pleasure myself because I was getting bored with the same old stuff. It feels weird to say this out loud but this is a forum for this stuff. I started fingering my butthole over the past 2 months but that led me to really get turned on by gay porn. I don’t believe I am gay. I have had moments where I’m like, “Huh maybe I am” but then I see a girl walk by that really catches my eye and I’m like there’s just no way I’m gay. I’ve never really been turned on by a guy in person, just on porn. This seems like an OCD thing to me though because the small voice in my head just constantly questions my sexuality to me every day. I’m working on nofap and its been a couple weeks. I would like to kind of figure out if these homosexual feelings will go away with me quitting watching porn. Sorry if this is all over the place lol but my mind is kind of all over the place right now. Also on top of that, I’m in love with my best friend who’s a girl but she’s a lesbian. ON TOP OF THAT, she’s been sending me weird mixed signals over the last year that add furthermore to the confusion. Thanks for your time guys

Yes you can go . However , if you keep watching porn, you will ended up having gay sex even though you’re not gay. Just to feel something different and exiting
    It’s scary and dangerous

  4. I’m really working to quit watching porn. I didn't even realize porn addiction was a real thing till like 2 weeks ago and I’m glad that there is a forum where we can talk about our struggles with it. Obviously quitting will be a challenge but I downloaded a NoFap calender to keep track of the days its been while on my way to 90. As far as my situation with my lesbian best friend, I feel like being in love with her may also be a result of my porn addiction cuz I’ve been friends with her for 5 years. I had initially had feelings for her when she told me she was lesbian that long ago and my strong feelings went away until February of this year.

I've been writing about this, mainly how masturbation is basically classical conditioning for homosexual behavior, but the mods don't want my posts in high visibility places and move them to offtopic where very people read them.

Too bad to see nofap actively suppressing discussion that can help people.

  6. Honestly I would love some more advice on the topic if you have some! I’m very new to the nofap forums and its been very helpful so far. For sure wish I found it months ago

Long story short, because masturbation and watching "straight" porn are not heterosexual acts but rather BIsexual, mostly homosexual (i'd say 80% homosexual). So it is inevitable that a pmo addict will, sooner or later, get hocd or transexual fetishes etc. This also depends on the amount of real sex he has. If he has very little to no sex but masturbates a lot, the hocd/trans/sissy stuff will break out sooner. So the ratio of real sex/masturbation is important too.

Classical conditioning (Pavlov's Dog) shows that you can pair any stimuli to any reward and that is that happens in pmo addicts in two ways.

    1. through watching porn and seeing the male and other erect penises while being aroused himself. So it overlaps homosexual stimuli with heterosexual stimuli. Watching others have sex was virtually non-existent in the past. And during actual sex you rarely even see your own penis.

    2. though the act of masturbation itself as sexual pleasure is associated with "penis awareness" and stroking penis. The harder one strokes penis, the harder one gets aroused. It is an inescapable act and fact.

The greatest offender of the two is masturbation as it involves real sensory stimuli.

There is already proof that people that identify as bisexual watch/watched more porn and that bi/gay people started masturbating earlier and masturbate more.

Sounds to me you're bisexual brah. Even if you preference women, doesn't matter.

Oh well, theres not much you can do, not watch it, but you're still going to get turned on by guys.

Its its an ongoing thing, you're bi. But then maybe because its wrong and you need the escalation it could be that. Time will tell.

Are you sexually attracted to guys?
Have you been sexually attracted to guys?
If the answer is yes and yes, your bi. But if its just poped up, who knows, maybe its porn / masturbation related. You'd know best, but I can't understand how its just come up now, if you had sexual attraction for men, it would have always been there, I really don't know.

  9. Shit happens, dude. You're not the only one. I'm lucky to not have experienced this shit, but I guess it's just a normal thing with porn. Just heal wounds. Stop watching porn and you'll see. Heal brain from this and time will show.

  10. Never used to have Bi urges, but recently this year I developed a thing for Bi Porn (due to my obsession with double vaginal penetration videos) and my wife found out...needless to say, she said it turned her on, even the explicit messages I'd sent to a male friend.

No idea where these urges came from??! I used to be straight as, but I'm guessing it's the porn catching up with me.

Textbook case of conditioning, like i have been saying. Your situation is extremely obvious because you watched double penetration stuff, therefore it was evident that another man is there, not just you. Same thing happens if you watch IR porn.

It is very possible for straight guys to become aroused by and addicted to gay porn. Happened to me, but more so with trans porn.

Since you've explicity said that you're only attracted to gay porn and not men, it's pretty obvious that this desire is induced by porn. Check out these article for more scientific studies and testimonials on the phenomena:

I’m straight, but attracted to transsexual or gay porn (or gay attracted to straight porn). What’s up?
Does it help to view porn use as immoral?
Why do porn cues still trigger a rush (sensitization)?

If you do a reboot and rewire, you should find the intensity of these gay porn urges to go away (I won't call them homosexual urges because they are urges for gay porn, not a homosexual relationship). I still get urges to watch trans porn, but I can tell now that these are urges. and not the need for a bona fide sexual relationship.

    rebooting basics page
    see rebooting basics page

Also, just because you finger yourself does not mean you're gay. It's just an another highly sensitive area on your body.

I used to question my sexuality all the time, but after a solid reboot and rewire period, I am very confident in who I am and what I desire. I sometimes get urges to watch different types of porn, but I know it's not who I am. Message me if you have other questions. Good luck!

  13. Some great comments and feedback, personally I'm not convinced by all of it but just my opinion and not knocking anyone else for theirs.

I would definitely agree that porn is a huge contributing factor to the way you've felt "turned" gay or bi. Over years my use has escalated from the vanilla to the extreme, and my actions and behaviours with it. I consider myself 100% hetero however have engaged in cross dressing, cei, anal play, feminization, humiliation, etc etc. It was great when I was in the middle of it but afterwards felt so degrading, which started to turn me on too. I've never once been attracted sexually to a guy in real life.

It's about the brains need to maintain a high, and to do so requires a bigger / more shocking hit to get there as you become tolerant of the easier genres.

As I sit here writing that, my urge to do it all is unreal. But I've made a choice and am aware that urge is the addiction, compulsion, or whatever you want to call it talking. Would I get "high" if I did it... absolutely!! Just like a heroin addict would.

And I don't want that in my life any more.

    Stay strong dude.

  14. Hey man that was a great read! Its just so wild to think how many people get HOCD and how messed up the porn industry is. Your brain chemistry gets all messed up and its wack but we’re on the way back!

I've worked with almost 60 guys here, some for going on 3 years and 200 PAGES of private conversation. Based on my progression with PMO over 20 years, and what I learned about my struggles and what it took to get me to QUIT, I developed a survey that asks a person very PERSONAL questions. Our sexual behavior is developed at a young age, most guys in the group are straight. However, a large portion of them progressed from straight/lesbian, to bi, to gay, to dark fetish...Because your mind needs something with more novelty and kick for you eventually to get off to, and it is a dark, slipper path were many straight, manly guys your age and old used material they NEVER intended or thought they would. THAT is part of the addiction. By fully evaluating ALL of your sexual development/history/habits in preferences, you can fully energize yourself to fight back when you realize how far PMO has taken you into the pit. The majority of guys in the group, who personal information is only known to me anonymously and not directly shared with anyone else, helped to create norms, cause and effect, and realization that YOU are NOT alone. When you realize 80% of guys do "that", you lean that you are a warped fouled up person - you see that PMO has converted and abused you to make you do the things you do. Working together one on one as a team with daily accountability, the majority of guys lessened by far the tentacles, reached 30, 90, 6mo and 1 year streaks so far, and many are going on to healthy relationships that involve or will involve sexual relations in a positive manner. Versus having flat line, poor erection or stamina from wearing themselves out and cheating on significant others with P. I did this to free myself initially, then to give back to others because my son was struggling with the same. Some sadly fall away and are stuck in the PMO rut, surface once in a while or fall away all together. Until you are willing to admit you have a problem, provide full disclosure and transparency and work through the issues, you won't leave PMO. I am here to help anyone that ones it, and I have tons of references from guys here. Doing this also keeps me clean, so it is double win for me. Message me if you are interested...my goal is to help as many as possible avoid 20yrs of being stuck in PMO by helping young guys NOW to break the cycle.

Have you seen or been in contact with people from YBOP? I would guess they'd love to get some of the data and testimonials you have, especially ones that span many months and years.

I totally agree that transparency, honesty, and community involvement are vital for anyone looking to escape PMO and begin a healthy sex life.

My theory on this is that you have an overactive dopamine center in your brain (or under-active). The point is that your brain craves novelty, stimulation and taboo sex themes to amp up shock factor. I believe that homosexuality is a very complex subject matter and if you don't want to go there and it doesn't feel like that's truly who you are then just dismiss it. Homosexuality comes and goes in all kinds of cultures. The Greeks were notorious for it and so were other civilizations. It's not that they were necessarily all "born gay" (as some of these activists would want you to believe) but rather that it's something in our DNA that people can sort of turn on or off depending on the situation. Look at prison for example: Plenty of dudes were straight alpha males before they got their life sentences and then what happened? Now they're banging young skinny dudes in there for a short stint. People can activate these behaviors if they really want to and some people are seemingly more predisposed to doing so than others. To me, it just seems like you have a very active sexual imagination and respond well to shock factor. My suggestion? Ask yourself who you want to be at the end of the day and then seek to integrate your sexuality with that vision/ideal and leave some room for play (even a bit of kink if you so choose) but don't go off into the deep end anymore, that stuff is for deviants and you know it too. Good luck!

LOL disagree on this one. Have you ready anything about HOCD and the struggle so many guys go through? What if you're attracted to dark transgendered person granny porn? Then what? That means your orientation is "dark transgendered person granny?" This guy sounds like he has HOCD. Is it possible that he's bi? Maybe. But if he says he's never attracted to guys besides in porn videos then that strongly points at HOCD more than anything. Very few people are naturally bi or gay. And the ones that are, science still has no idea why or how that is.

I haven't shared data outside of the group, but YBOP is the first video I recommend to be watched in turning up the fight and bringing right back to PMO, the enemy of us all. Education sets the stage for learning and then action. When you get pissed at what PMO has taken, and convert that anger to diligence, drive and purpose it goes a long way for the streak building to breakway.
