Thankyou for this. I remember my first time into nofap and in the first time itself i went in hardmode and actually did it for 1 and a half years. But i got overconfident and read a book and it triggered me and masturbated . From then it has always been small streaks compared to before like 2 weeks and max of upto 2 months.

i have started doing yoga and meditation and it is helping me a lot but i need to quit porn so i am back again on nofap and this forum is just too awesome and you guys are super awesome. Helps me a lot

  2. 1 and a half years is absolutely insane! 99% of us have never gone that far!

You've done it before brother, you can certainly do it again! And you've learned what caused the fall last time, so you're stronger for it. Welcome back bro!

  3. Well done iForerunner and thank you for this great comprehensive summary of your journey to success whiles avoiding failure as well as providing a wealth of suggestions where the true values of those suggestions have been emphasised in ways which I haven't seen before.

I do have to to say that even though this NoFap streak was the most successful streak I have had so far, it is still far from ideal. What I mean when I say this is that, I was still learning on the go as to what I should do and do. Some suggestions I was aware of in theory, I did not actually put into practice (such as writing out a proper plan to achieve a successful reboot). It is true that in my journal I came up with whatever the skills I wanted to develop, but I take it that this is just part of the plan and not the actual 'therapeutic' response to the PMO problem. I will have to sit down and devise a system consisting of tactics and strategies in place, even if that means doing it the old school way by drawing mind maps and tables.

I did not have an accountability partner in this streak. Whatever the interaction I had with other fapstranauts in the accountability forum was quite rudimentary and by no means contributed to my streak. I am determined to take this more seriously, now that you have stressed the importance of how vital the right type of accountability partner can be.

Also I didnt use any parental control software on my browser. As a matter of fact I never have given this a try, but now that you've made it quite obvious how essential it was, I hope to see if my anti-virus software has this option available, and if not I will look for alternatives.

One of the strategies I wanted to look into was urge surfing, but never got around to learning it properly which I do hope to.

Within my streak for about 60 days I took a massive risk. I came across a video on Scandanavian Bob's YouTube channel on cue-exposure therapy. I did this for 60 odd days and stopped as I felt I got the full benefit of that. I do have to say whiles this is highly effective it carries a lot of risk for some. But I came out of it being more resistant to triggers given that some of these triggers are so abundant from YouTube to Instagram to Netflix. It gave me a rapid reboot but with a high risk, so I can't recommend it to all.

I have read your success story once, but I hope to go through it again and carefully select the points which would be important for me. I also saw that you have posted a link from your reddit on your 90 day success story, which I also hope to go through. This post on your 180 day success is like a polished gem.

Finally I would like to say that I do admire your faith in your religion. Even though we are from two different religious backgrounds, I am convinced that having faith in a religion can have a positive impact in overcoming temptations especially the type which had been affecting us.

I take it you haven't finished yet with NoFap not because you didn't reboot (you did) but I take it you are going for the overkill. This is what I enjoy.

    Best wishes,
    Paraeinstein

Yes i am back and I am starting it once again but i am quiet happy that my streak broke as i was at a place where i thought i had become all high and mighty and can give advice to anyone. But that fall has humbled me and now when i go through the post’s in this forum it really touches me a lot at how awesome you guys are and together how much we can use the tools of social media to become more conscious and try to reach the ultimate potential of our life. Thankyou all of you for being out here for me

  7. You're welcome brother, and thank you for your comment. I don't know about urge surfing or cue exposure, I'll have to look into that.

Absolutely, accountability is such a powerful tool on this journey. I dont actually have any parental blocks set up, just the accountability software.

Best of success to you as you advance further and GOD Bless.

  8. Since you already succeeded NoFap more than twice you probably may not need to, but its always good to have whatever the weapons against PMO in your arsenal. As for cue-exposure therapy, I do have to caution very strongly as I took a massive risk. Even I came across it on YouTube without specifically looking for it. Here is where I learnt about the basics of it.

Hey I would like to more about accountability software, like names, where I can get them etc. This is something I am completely unaware of.

You re doing great bruv and it keeps the rest of us motivated too! Keep going!

  13. Thanks for this bro - I'll definitely check it out. It never hurts to have more weapons in our arsenal!

So, I'm using Accountable2You at the moment. There's also CovenantEyes, EverAccountable and RealMenDontPorn. I have Accountable2You on my PC and smartphone, and if there's any inappropriate search, it would be sent to my AP within an hour. Uninstalling the software would alert him too. So if I was really trying to get back to pornography and I didn't want him to know, I'd have to find another device. Very powerful tool.

This is honestly so true and so funny at the same time :D

And you are completely correct, our individual willpower is extremely weak compared to the intense opposition that surrounds us and seeks to drag us down. However, when we learn to rely on other people, we have a source to fallback to when temptation reaches its peak.

Very inspiring story, I hope to be able to accomplish this for myself.
    God bless you!
