Been addicted to porn for over 6years now, I'm currently 19. I've tried a lot of times to quit. Some days, months, I'm successful, but for a majority it's me going back.
I have a lot I would love to achieve, my degrading view towards people of the opposite sex, my productivity, and I'm certainly sure that porn has been a major drawback.

For me, because I have tried quitting a couple of times, i'm kinda aware of what really transpires on the journey to quitting porn - The flat line, depression, mad fatigue and loss of drive, amongst many others that I have personally experienced.
I plan on quitting porn forever, but I'm going to start slowly, doing it chunk by chunk like the readStream method in nodejs unlike the readFile method(Okay i just wanted to be funny lol!) - so i'd be starting with 30days of no porn.
I'm putting myself out there, hopefully the internet will serve as an accountability partner. Once again, I really need to quit this thing called porn and this is my journey.

One thing I caution is about your last remark. Remember that the internet is what gives you your 'fix'. Remember that as you post here...you might be on the same device in the same location as you PMO! That's not good right???? Just by being there you're elevating your risk of not achieving your goal.

Don't rely on willpower to muscle your way through this. Identify where and when, and what leads up to PMO. Then actively think about how to avoid those...how to put roadblocks between you and PMO that stop or at least delay you.

I work long shifts....my solution was to leave my computer at work for a month and not bring it home. Also remember that you have to quit, but also REPLACE. Replace PMO with something that will hold your attention. I replaced it with fishing...drawing (took an art class)...and music (both listening for hours, and learning to play several instruments). Find a passion, follow that passion....if something has ever interested you then do it!!!

Thanks a whole lot for this sir, I really appreciate.

Yea, I think I have been able to identify what leads up to me having to PMO - And i have decided to really keep them in check.
About the internet and computer thing, I actually work with my laptop, so there's need for me to be on it at every point in time, sadly my ADHD makes me lose consciousness and i find myself in a rabbit hole that my probably lead to me having to PMO. I'd definitely work on that by setting time restrictions for every activity I get to do on my laptop.
For the replacing part, I never gave that a thought until now. I really don't know what i'd love to replace that with, becasue porn doesn't really have a specific time that it happens, it just happens. But I'm going to really think things out, thanks a whole bunch for this sir.

If you have to work on your laptop maybe you can find a good public place to do your work at? Public library perhaps? Then maybe you can find a place to leave your laptop outside of home that is secure to store it.

You have to start thinking about these things. Eventually you'll have a good streak going that you don't want to mess up. Your willpower will grow stronger...you'll be able to resist more in risky situations. Until then don't put yourself into them. Force yourself to take action at times when you're not risking relapsing so when those situations arise you have helped yourself avoid it already.

Also, don't use your ADHD as an excuse. I am diagnosed with it too. Learn to use it to your advantage instead of seeing it as something negative. I hyper focus and shut out the world quite often. I've managed to use that to fill up a lot of free time obsessing over my hobbies. I'll play an instrument or draw a picture for hours without thinking about PMO. Sure sometimes I have to FORCE myself to sit down with a hobbies, but once I do it's all that matters for a while. If you're ADHD chances are you have the ability to unlock a lot of hidden talent and potential. Don't let that go to waste. Do something with it.

You're right, I never looked at channeling the advantage into my porn recovery, only looked at it's advantage career wise.
Sincerely man, I'm grateful for the honest tips.
