Sexual Expression

Hope this belongs in this forum. I'm on day 10 and I'm struggling to keep going with PMO so I'm on here trying to distract myself.

I was dating this girl a few years older than me and I ended up telling her about my porn addiction. She was surprisingly calm about it and didn't care too much really. I was legit shocked she wasn't disgusted by it or anything. I told her the only time I can ever actually stop is when I'm in a sexual relationship. She told me about previous experiences with other men she dated who had similar issues. They went to counseling together and apparently the counselor said "deviant behavior typically subsides when their sexuality can expressed". And I have to admit, after hanging out with her, even when we just hung out and watched movies or something, I didn't feel like PMOing. We had sex but I felt like I could express my sexual desires with her.

So long story short: can a lot of our addiction be solved by being able to express our sexuality with the right person? Can transmutation still occur if having a healthy relationship with another person even if it's sexual? Or is this something that is purely on an individual basis?
