If what the video depicts is so normal, and what most girls want (secretly or otherwise), why are you so excited by how unique and unusual it is?

Most 'normal' P is a million miles away from Victorian sexuality. If you are seeking harder and harder stuff compared to what is normally available, then it looks like you may have a problem with P escalation.

It's nothing to do with celibacy or being moralistic about what kind of sex people have. It's a symptom of P addiction, which you appear to be in denial about.

I am also a fan of good food. And a super high quality restaurant gets me excited.
Sex is the same. Some people are having better sex than others. No shame in being excited about that.

I do think that P could be better regulated - if you read that twitter thread there is a lot of naivety about the industry, a sort of 'well if it was filmed and on the internet it must be consensual and all above board' - it isn't Hollywood, and far too much of this stuff is produced for any meaningful regulation to take place. And regarding access too - countless posts on here talk about 'accidentally' accessing hardcore P at a ridiculously young age (pre teen). Is it bad parenting? Sure. Could ISPs do more to restrict this material for households with young children? of course they could.
I'm reluctant to get too involved in the P regulation debate though as I know I have to stay completely clear of this stuff for fear of relapse. For the people who do want to take on that industry though? - good luck to them!

My point is Porn isn't the issue or problem for anyone's addiction. It is just videos, photos, etc. Not a real creature that seeks people and forces them to watch. You have an addiction for a number of reasons, stress, depression, loneliness, lack of motivation, etc. All these end up making you release so little dopamine from say being with friends, playing sports, basically normal things that you choose to masturbate to get that dopamine. There is a reason rich people hardly masturbate and such because they most of the time get it from the things they buy.

This is really bad. Actually it is not about women only but whole pornographic industry is screwed up, Especially with Hardcore Porn of BDSM, where literally those "victims" are just not sensing themselves from what they are engaged with. This place is full of darkness and it is the only Criminal Industry that is legalized although it should be literally banned 'Internationally' in every mean.

Recently I read an article on The Onion says that they will announce a contest to allow one user under 18 to view their content.
I feel sorry for this "Fortunate" boy...

Its a difficult stance to take for me. I dont think porn should be completely illegal but perhaps more needs to be done to educate people on how harmful it can be. This is already done with unhealthy food, cigarettes, alcohol, etc, and in the end porn is just as bad as those things. However, I hate resent the idea of a nanny state that tells people what they cant watch or get up to in the privacy of their own home. I think all we can really do is work on ourselves and our own problems with porn, as frustrating as it can be to see others fall into the trap, we cant actively stop them from doing it.

The thread is quite long and has some pictures in it, but they are censored, showing PornHubs 4th most popular video of this week, with over FOUR MILLION views. This video shows "a teen girl, hands/feet shackled down, mouth gagged, being penetrated with a machine, electrocuted until she is screaming in pain & her body burned with wax"

I see this, and I have to be honest. Part of me becomes slightly aroused, and that kinda scares me, considering all I know about porn and how damaging it is to us mentally and physically. This is yet more reason to give up porn, to stop supporting heinous shit like this

OK so back to the stuff that I think doesnt need a spoiler tag. I can already see some of the arguments being made, so let me address them as best I can.

"The video is obviously fake, the woman in it is an actress" - Yes, I am aware of this, but I would like to point out to anyone who uses this argument that this is often NOT the case and I urge you to do the research yourself. See the documentary "Hot Girls Wanted", or countless other real life cases of women being exploited into doing porn. Also see these two articles.

We have no real idea whats going on behind the scenes here in this specific case but at the end of the day that isnt really the point is it? Even if this is completely above board it doesnt mean the countless other examples of this are (Heres a wild guess, they arent)

"What right do you have to police consenting adults, why are you kinkshaming?" I mean this argument ties into the above argument but I'll address it separately. In theory, I have no problem with consenting adults doing stuff like this, but this, to me, is different. FOUR MILLION people, more than that in fact have seen this video and even if only one percent of those people see it and and have their brains fucked with because of it, thats a staggering FORTY TWO THOUSAND people. How anyone can view this and think it isnt toxic to men and women's brains is delusional in my opinion.

In conclusion, I dont see how anyone can look at this and still think porn isnt harmful. I think there is a common misconception that porn is somehow analogous to something like a Playboy magazine or occasionally seeing a boob or bare ass in an 18 rated movie. Its not at all. Its so much worse and in a lot of cases is deliberately designed to corrode the mind, body and spirit. I'm not saying this as a radical feminist, as a religious fundamentalist, or as some sort of zealot. Just as someone who has had their mind warped by porn from a young age and fights every day to overcome it, seemingly like a lot of people on here. Its becoming increasingly obvious to me that cutting down or outright quitting masturbation is a case of controlling natural urges, this is doable with the right plan of action and a good amount of honed willpower and strategy. Giving up porn, giving it up completely, is like quitting a class A drug.
