  1. Yea I know the shaking of the body, zero focus with dozens of tabs open all to well.

I only have low appetide when the extreme flatlines begin. I really have to force myself to eat during these extreme flatlines, and it almost takes me 45 minutes to finish my plate. Sometimes it's impossible to even swallow the food and just throw the food on the plate in the bin. I don't always have this low appetide tho. There are periods were I'm quite hungry and im lucky for having appetide. My moments of low appetide usually last about 2 weeks max. I still try to be active in powerlifting and swimming so I really need to force myself to eat food to get enough kcals, carbs and protein.

Take it easy on us my friend. We are some very serious addicts on here so its a massive achievement to even be on this journey in the first place. Remember, it does not take much for one to slip up. We need near perfection for a long time. Our body and minds get taxed during this time because it is very stressful to be rid of an addiction.

I’m terrified right now. After being virtually symptom free for months, I accidentally kindled dec 23 by activating Facebook and scrolling the profile of a girl I knew. Symptoms started raging like crazy since that and today I was looking up massage parlors near me and got a similar response. I just kindled again. I’m fearing never being able to live a normal life free of symptoms

These symptoms need time to fade away man.. And sometimes they come back full force. That's called windows and waves. It's common that a symptom-wave can be triggered by, for example, seeing porn content.

I don't know if you have any other medical issues?

Some people here have these symptoms solely from PMO Nofap and most have them because PMO plays the major factor.

Whatever the case, I'd suggest you use a holistic approach. Holism = the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
So think your overall health as the whole. And all the factors of your health you can take control over, as the parts.

Work on yourself to get a near-perfect circadian rythm. Start time-constraint eating so your cells (which include your brain) get enough time everyday to repair. You bodies healing proces stops the moment you put anything in your stomach. Our bodies are made to heal and repair everyday, but this does not happen if we eat from waking up to going to bed.

A near-perfect diet as close to as nature intended as possible.
Get some sunlight in the morning and movement throughout the day.
Shut off your internet connection for at least 12 of the 24 hours per day.
Take loads of real rest, cut back on stimuli.
Also confront and do deep and honest work on any emotional baggage you might have.

And there's much more we can do. Again, look up epigenetics. It's no joke.

And always trust your own judgements and instinct, and DYOR

One example of some very effective and natural healing activity for us is pingpong, I kid you not.

"Also known as "ping-pong," the game is great for hand-eye coordination and reflexes (cerebellum and parietal lobes). You have to focus (prefrontal cortex) so you can track the ball through space (parietal lobes and occipital lobes), figure out spins (parietal lobes and occipital lobes), and plan shots and strategies (prefrontal cortex and cerebellum). Then you have to follow through and execute those tactics successfully (prefrontal cortex and cerebellum). All the while, you have to stay calm so you don't get too nervous on game point (basal ganglia). And you can't dwell on that point you blew a few minutes ago (anterior cingulated gyrus) or blow your top when you make a mistake (temporal lobes). It is like aerobic chess."

In one Japanese study they showed with 3000 people who played pingpong for just two minutes the frontal lobes were already getting bigger. In the study, people with dementia were included.

One particular group of 113 patients with dementia and other neurological diseases showed that, in 10 months:
    - The amount of people needing a wheelchair decreased from 42 to 15
    - The amount of people who could walk without any help increased from 41 to 66
    - The amount of people with depression decreased with an incredible amount of 50%
    - More than 70 people where being classified in an earlier stage of dementia than they were before and 25 patiënts came back "normal" after the study where they were first classified as having dementia

Interesting - I meditate for similar reasons. Problem is, I was notorious at school for being the worst pingpong player there - full stop! Poor eye-hand co-ordination - but I'm sure that the benefits come from trying and doing. I've heard it said that people who live in the so-called "blue zones" in the world (eg Japan, Sardinia etc) that physical movement and activity are seen as a key factor in good health and long life - more than heavy exercise or diet. Not sure how true that is, but it makes you think.

It's very true. This is scientifically confirmed. I have the book "Blue Zones Method". It is a very fine introduction to how we "ought" to live according to nature (and God/Source for if you are spiritual inclined). Very practical and good to combine with avoiding the so-called "Medical Medium No-foods" list. This is all backed by Weston A. Price his research in the previous century. And the new science of epigenetics (changing your genetic expression through designing your own environment and inner peace) scientifically confirms all this even further.

Wim Hof is a living evidence that we can change our physical and mental health to so many environments, being good OR bad. The choice is really ours to make.

If we could find a way to combine our placebo effect with our knowledge on epigenetics, we can take so much control over our health it would seem like a miracle. Lol

Another good read is "The Brain's way of Healing" from Norman Doidge.

Hi, I've just searched for this, but can't find it, either using Google or Amazon. Is that the exact title?

    Cheers.

Thanks for your response man. I haven’t pmod since oct 12 2018 and pretty much stopped using social media since June/July last year. I then quit nicotine in October and started intermittent fasting for about 3 months. I would spend my entire summer day outside and started intermittent fasting as a way to get through the winter. I started dating 4 or 5 girls and even had 2 successful sexual experiences for the first time. I was basically symptom free for 6-8 months. When I reactivated Facebook and got that kindling response I deactivated right away but in the past month I’ve taken a downward spiral and have relapsed to nicotine and have used low doses of benzos to sleep a couple times a week. I had been pill free for about a year. I just got that kindling response again. I’m afraid it will take even longer to get back to normal and any use of technology in the future even if it’s years from now has the potential to send me back to square one. I’ve blown half my year of savings in a month and have been letting myself go as far as diet and exercise. 2 months ago I was approaching women and now I’m a recluse fearing human interaction. Does each kindling response send you back to square one?

I don't think it does, but I haven't been as successful as you at getting a decent long streak going in the first place. All I can say is that after a long streak I do retain some of the gains if my relapse was relatively mild, and only involved one PMO. However, repeated PMO (for me) does seem to get me back to square one eventually.

I don't know man, and I don't know your personal constitution physically and mentally.

All I do know is that it's best to focus and take 100% responsibility on the things you can control. And accept the things that are not in your control.

Our bodies know how to get back at tranquility. Just do your best to get out of the way and give it what it needs.

Remember you can never go wrong doing the right things. This is also a good way to reduce unnecessary fear and activate your placebo

It is very rough. But your symptoms will pass

  15. Just bought a ping pong table! Thanks.

  16. Meditation will not help an addicted brain, it makes worse in my experience. I know all those "fancy sounding studies" about the benefits of meditation, in my experience it worth nothing, a time waste.
Brain need real activities, like ping pong as
    Tywin Lannister
suggested, or any game where you play with other people in real world. Meditation not a brain exercise, it is a method that was develoved to achieve spiritual "experiences", "enlightment" etc. But in real it will never help you to live normal life in this society. Or deal with your problems.

Wim Hof is a living evidence how to make alot of money by selling ancient techniques that was never meant to learn by public because safety reasons. I would not experiment with his tecniques.

Meditation helps loads and loads of people becoming more mindful in everyday life, which means that their cognitive abilities sharpen up and their emotions get more attuned to what is actually happening in the here and now: less depression and less anxiety.
To "seek" enlightenment is futile. There is nothing to seek. Enlightenment will happen to some people, and not to others.
Just experience life to the fullest. But sometimes you just need some sensory deprivation to calm the mind. That's all.

Can you show us some evidence of this please?

Do you know him personally? I actually am from The Netherlands.

  18. Sure I can prove he making money with ancient methods ! https://prnt.sc/qtnaw7
He sells yoga/tummo meditation etc. repacaged.

Sure that how they try to sell meditation today, but origional goals of meditation was to achieve "enlightment". "Enlightment" will happen to no one, but some may go crazy. Doctors says crazy people are often the most happy, you know they live in their internal worlds, and they just happy in there.

My teacher at kindergarden gave me numbers, letters, how to read, be kind with the other kids, etc.
My parents payed for it. We also payed church.

So what I am trying to say is that you cannot show evidence of that the information was "never meant for the public to know because of some dangers"

Life itself is a risky business anyway, driving on a highway for example can be very dangerous

  20. It is everyone business what they do with their money. Sure, to learn these techniques you had to travel to Asia, live as a monk, learn these in many years away from society. This is how Wim Hof learnt these things, he has not sucked it out from his little finger one day.

It was not for everyone. But today you know Internet gave us many good and many bad things. Can you watch p for weeks? Sure thanks to internet! Can you sell for people old techniques rooted in Buddhism, Hinduism, and tell them it something new? Sure you can, thanks to internet!
