Day 165: Still No Erection - What am I doing wrong?!

    Hi Guys,

    I have been on NoFap for 5 and a half months now. I was never actually addicted to high speed PORN itself, I spent a lot of time on dating apps and M'in to sexual images. After realising I had PIED I started NoFap immediately and have been attempting hard mode since. So far I have:
    • Cut out all forms of PMO
    • Stopped drinking caffeine
    • Cut down on Alcohol
    • Started doing kegels daily
    • Working out 5 times a week
    • Socialising more
    Admittedly I am still struggling with the instant gratification of Netflix/YouTube but nowhere near as much as I was previously.

    After the first 2 months, I began noticing an improvement in my erections and felt much better, however my problem is my erections, if anything they have become worse. I'm on my 4th flatline and admittedly it is nowhere near as bad as my first few flatlines. However, even when out of flatline, my morning wood/general erections are non-existent. I still have some anxiety, brain fog, and speech issues and at this point i'm not seeing any improvements. I am now being to wonder if I am actually moving in the right direction?

    Is it just the case that I am one of the unlucky long rebooters? Or am I missing something? Should I look into getting myself out there and dating/rewiring with a partner? Any advice is appreciated! See below for supplements I am currently using.

    Kelegs, cut the dopamine completely. Your brain doesn't differentiate between Kelegs and edging to P. Orgasm, and arousal sends you straight into a flatline and slows down your recovery.

    You could be a long rebooter, but try rebooting with a girl now since you have been clean for a long time....your brain needs to understand what the real thing is. All the best bro, don't worry your in the right direction...just push on!

    So at 180 days I decided to take your advice and continue the reboot with a female from work. We have been speaking for some time now but I have held off on interacting with any girls due to NoFap. Unfortunately there's been 1 problem. 15 seconds into our first kiss I O'd. I'm talking 6 months worth of O. The orgasm was so intense I thought I was dying.

    To cut a long story short, it's day 195 and I have been back in a flatline for 2 weeks. It feels as though the O has set me back a fair amount. Since the orgasm at day 180, social anxiety has reappeared, holding eye contact feels awkward and unnatural. Brain fog is back with a vengeance, along with feeling very fatigued in the mornings even after 7 clean hours of sleep. Most of minimal to no erections.

    It looks as though i'm going to be a long rebooter, but i'm ready for it.

    Hi man you have a very interesting case, I have a few questions..
    Firstly have you been tested for any underlying medical condition that may be causing this for you?
    Also, when you first got intimate with that girl did your libido feel very high to the point that it made you O so quickly?
    If it did I think consistent rewiring with a girl is the best thing for you to do now, especially after 6 months no O. It might stabilize your libido. I believe abstaining from any O for that long a time puts your libido to sleep in a way, as it's not being used at all.

    I think u might try cutting down the intensity of your work out. If u are tired all the time dont push your self to the limit , some light exercise like walking should be sufficient. From my experience,doing body weight work outs until my body emptied out only do more harm. But my condition is different im always tired even i slept well every night.

    Hi Fendi,

    I underwent a blood test before even knowing about NoFap and all my levels came back fine. I explained to the doctor my symptoms and he put it down to low testosterone until the blood test results came back as normal. I work out, eat well, health wise I am confident I am fine.

    In terms of libido levels when getting intimate with the girl, yes my libido was off the chart. Physically, emotionally and mentally, I was feeling the best I had felt since I started NoFap 6 months ago. PIED wasn't quite cured, and I still wasn't 100% perfect, but withdrawal signs were minimal, I could easily become aroused and achieve maybe a 60-70% erection and my mind was as sharp as it used to be (approx 2 years ago). I had been out of flatline for approx 10 days, so naturally the moment I O'd I knew I was going straight back in. This week will be 4 weeks since the flatline kicked in.

    So on a final note, is the final suggestion rewire with females with no O?

    The tiredness isn't the standard tiredness. It's more of a fatigue. The type of fatigue where your alarm goes off and you're not just tired, you do not want to move. Does this make any sense? It only seems to occur during the flatline. Outside of flatline I have been sleeping just fine. However I have been working out ALOT and lighter exericise could be the way forward.

    Btw do u fantasize? Because fantasizing will mess u up pretty bad, more like a porn replacement. Im doing longer and easier streaks since i stopped it.

    The fact that your libido was off the chart while intimate with that girl is very good news and a sign that your reboot is working in my opinion. 6 months without O is an extremely long time so I think it's only normal that you O'd so quickly when just kissing. This was also a positive step in rewiring as you were very aroused by just kissing, which doesn't happen with PIED sufferers.
    I think rewiring with girls should be your main focus now, it may get your libido to kick back into gear and stabilize. Never relapse to porn, keep having intimate moments with girls if you can and maybe ease into sex slowly with limited Os to start. This should get your brain used to arousal from real life sexual events, abstaining from any sexual pleasure for a very long time might cause libido to be low because the brain forgets this route of pleasure (just my theory), you need to train it to receive pleasure from real sex instead of fake virtual sex (PMO).

    This is a good sign, remember the first time you watched porn and you were done in some mins? I mean the huge rush you had which reduced over time? The same thing happened but this time, it was the real experience. Keep rebooting with her as changing partners might damage your pathways and make your old porn pathways active again. Since you O'd so fast you need to do Kegels while peeing, the start/stop control, keep doing it and you will have control as well as high sex drive. Try to abstain from O'ing tho unless your having sex, It's a great symptom bro, keep rewiring with her and you'll be completely cured soon. All the best bro!

    On the supplements, the zinc is good, not sure what form you are using. Zinc and other minerals are heavily depleted in sex. The supplements seem fairly weak. I would try New Chapter, for men. I know the owner of the company who has been pretty cutting edge. You can get their product for under $10 on ebay for expired, nothing is really lost if the vitamin has surpassed the sell by date when you are talking a properly stored stable supplement.

    Herbs for erectile and general health are many. Even organic garlic cloves, chomped at night so that you don't have offensive breath, taken with honey, etc. is good for physical strength and immunity.

    Wisconsin ginseng, avena sativa, tribulus, ginkgo extract, teas like yerba mate, green teas, all would help. I would go for the raw herb forms. 100 mg of niacin with the supplements help power them into your system. Any legal drugs you are taking could be a part of the problem. Stretching exercises and yoga will help.

    Thanks for the advice here, this thread has me feeling more positive.

    So to summarize, begin rewiring with girls avoiding O. Never relapse on porn. Keep up the intimate moments.

    I have one final question which i'm not sure anyone has the answer to: why do we drop back into flatline after an O? I'm still currently in flatline meaning minimal libido and minimal erections. Even outside of flatline, erections still aren't 100% and penetration is questionable. So I understand I need to rewire but am I right in thinking I may have to wait until I am out of the flatline and more recovered to start putting this into practice?

    Will you do me a favor and let me know what your testosterone comes back as? For research. Also I theorize that flatline comes back after O due to either addiction mechanisms or endocrine mechanisms, or both. There is an acute increase in estrogen receptors and a decrease in androgen receptors after O, which might explain it. Also prolactin will inhibit dopamine and make you feel shitty.

    I explained what might be happening in the post that you replied to. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about if O is from a partner. Could just be activating old addiction pathways
