  1. Hi. I guess, I am melomaniac, and music is the only tool which somehow helps to endure urges, but sometimes it makes opposite. I wonder, which music helps you the best to not relapse? For me, most effectively helps band called Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It remins that not always will be bad. :D What helps to you? Thanks for answers.

P.S.: some people could help Linkin Park music, but just not for me. For example, Crawling song is the worst thing to me. It has very opposite effects.. I always listen to that song after I PMO'd. Worst thing is that while listening to it I enjoy the fact that I lost self-control because I am f****** masochistic... So, not always helps music. Sry for bad english. :(

    Well,
you could try playing in a band? Learn an instrument, use those hands for something else? ^^
Maybe you will find a proper wife by making music with others and settle down to have children?

  7. I listen to industrial-metal or power-metal. That helps me with not masturbating.
These songs are some of the ones I listened to tonight whilst exercising.
    "Pumping Iron Power" by Grailknights
    "Deutschland" by Rammstein
    "Du Haust" by Rammstein
    "Exterminate Annihilate Destroy" by Rotersand
    "Bismark" by Sabaton

I know they aren't the best songs (musically) but they're still good to exercise to, and working out helps with not masturbating.
Playing music is also a good thing. I play bass and (sometimes) guitar, and (from my experience) practicing an instrument will put your hands to use. That being said, I do need to be more disciplined with my practice times.

Try the "Best of Classical" playlists on YouTube*. I find classical music without any lyrics is helping to think more clearly. :)

*turn off the volume of the ads, its a life hack

  9. No music is bad! When I first time found Crawling song in 2015 it was an anthem for my addictions and fears. That song reminds me exactly how I feel after every relapse and when I need to go from home but I am really afraid of it... You can't talk to people because of shame and self-hatred... And you become schizophrenic, even your crush to you looks very dangerous... But every time after relapse when I listened to this I hoped that it could help me. And somehow right now it started helping! It looks that I made quite wise "investment" listening to this song after relapse and experiencing mine disaster. It is like Pavlov's dog and I made it to myself. :D Now, when I am in a long streak, I just need to listen this song and then a sequence of associations leads to experience again that honor when you relapse and you understand that YOU CAN'T RELAPSE BECAUSE YOU WILL FEEL SO UNBELIEVABLE AWFUL.

  10. I have noticed that music takes me away from the present moment and prevents me from enjoying life. My mind takes over and I'm too much in my head. I've stopped listening to music (except at the gym). Even quiet music. Since then, I feel much better :)

Same, even when I feel like hearing it, I just don't like it anymore. No music for a couple months already I'm even running without it. It makes life more interesting.

  12. It is quite contradictory and my mind doesn't want to believe but according to what I experienced this 5 months when I stopped really listen to music too much it is quite true. But I still can't imagine my life without music.

  13. I think it depends on the person. I'm hypersensitive and music constantly takes me back in time or reminds me of my dreams. I imagine stories and that prevents me from being fully present. I love music, it allows me to escape for a moment. But for me it was more a way to escape from reality than anything else.

Let's not forget that it makes you much more focused. However I find myself stressed alot of times, I gotta start meditating because i feel so stressed and impatient. wish I had a boxing bag, Exercise helps me to manage stress alot of times.

  15. Yeah Music, youtube and watching movies may be the cause of your stress. In fact, all the habits that take you away from the now

(Even writing posts on this forum ahah )

  16. As I see very many people there are in this forum who try to live in this moment. I didn't think that some group of people could affect me so much, but I right now trying that too. I try if this is possible to not use YT, FB, too much music and porno and all that shit what makes me really unhappy and gives anxiety and depression, and it seems that really helps. It is better to do nothing than be a slave to these pathetic things who makes you very addictive. And I do these about maybe about 10 days or a bit longer. I was really stupid in the past - why I never thought about it?

  17. Yeah we experience anxiety and stress because we think too much about our goals and our future while our body is in the present. It creates conflict. We experience depression because we think about the past and it hurts us. We are slaves to our thinking

The only way to be free and at peace is to focus and fix our attention on the only thing that exists at the moment: the present. And for that, the best thing to do is to suppress the habits that take us away from the present moment. Meditation can also be very helpful

    Take care man :)

I'm full of stress you are right, I cured many addictions, I stopped watching TV, stopped video games after 12000hours,
l improved in everything but im always stressed. Not only because of that. I always think about how will I get along with people in my life with this habits. For example when I will have a girlfriend I don't want to be associated in Instagram and stuff, or watch movies and eat junks. Even now it's a struggle when people ask me why I eat healthy all the time, they claim that im skinny and I can eat whatever I want. I need a psychologist asap lmao I got tons of shit to drop. But after all I'm blessed that I found this place, it turned my life to a better place. I'm not saying that I'm not gonna get along with people, but nofap life style will always be my first priority.

  19. Yeah, I know what you mean, man, and I know what you're talking about. I was exactly like you. Always stressed over nothing. So stressed and hard on myself to achieve my goals that I had a hard time eating. What helped me was to stop listening to music, take a break from weight training and healthy eating, stop watching movies, youtube. Start meditation and practice gratitude. Also, ask yourself if you love what you do in your life. If you don't like what you do, your studies, your job, etc., it is normal that you stress. The one who loves what he does feels passion. If you don't like what you do, you feel stress
