Note: I have kept it as short as possible but still it is long so I would request you to please read it completely and help.

I can make a whole novel about my addiction but you can please read my info tab for my whole addiction history in order to help me better.

Short Version: starting PMOing at 13 and till next 1.5 yrs masturbated 2-3 times a week. Next 1.5 years once daily with some 4-5 days break when motivated for studies. Next 2 years every day 3-6 times with max 9 times only twice since I am on Earth. I watched most disgusting P videos, I won't name it as it can create an urge for others but I named it in my info tab.

    Now coming to NoFap journey...
It's not that in all my PMO times I didn't had a break in between there were times when I reduced my PMO to very less and not at all for a week but it was very less often and only when I had bad academic results.

Earlier to PMO, I was an academic topper, extreme stamina football player, innocent and all an ideal boy should be but since then the story has an exciting turn.

I loved to remain isolated. But I did played football in my school, the performance didn't changed a lot but lost some stamina but still enough and more than some Gym Freaks. Dropped academic from 100 in maths to 42 in maths in class XII.

TOday, I am a 6'2'' tall, slight thin, not undrrweight but thin boy with normal looks.

BUt NoFap seems to do some damage then recovering the damage at least for me.

I started nofap seriouly on Nov 3, 2019 and my first streak lasted for 28 days.

    It's withdrawals were:

    abdominal pain
    headache
    anxiety
chest pain only one day in all the streak days
got my blood test, urine test, ECG, 2d Echo ... all came back healthy and doctor prescribed Vitamin B12 capsule twice a week and Vizylac capusle for a month and said we will do treadmill test after some time..

In this whole streak I ate healthy, more spiritual, more concentration on studies and what not.. I was enjoying Nofap and then I again did the same mistake and relapsed ...
Note: till this time I walked daily after relapse but didn't take Vitamin B12 capsules during relapse.

Went on a 5 weeks relapse where I PMOed every 2-3 days, with some 7-10 days streak and some day where I PMOed 3 times a day. BUt I was enjoying that as it was my deep learned behaviour. BUt then I started my longest ever streak on 8th Jan 2020. Currently on 33 days and feeling goof to do so. but withdrawals are way too weird and its very very difficult o handle them..

From past 10 days agai ni started taking V B12 capsule and vizylac for abdominal issues but still the withdrawals are:

    1) Fear and anxiety of getting a cardiac arrest r stroke from withdrawals, don't know why?

    2) sudden emotional thougths from past and dwelling on mistakes made.

    3) Physical symptoms -abdominal pain sometimes a day, for past a week

    4) pins and needles while walking after walking 4kms a day... sometimes

    5)Now comes the weirdest part...

symptoms of GERD.. like acid reflux, constipation. abdominal bloating, with some with some feeling of taste of acid sometimes for this I am taking Vizylac daily and antacid syrup.

The most fearing one mimicking symptoms of nerve damage ... or neuropathy are pins and burning sensation in wrists and sometimesboth arms .. starting yesterday.... and a slight center chest pain ... this scares me a lot... and also sometimes neck pain

BUt I don't understand that I was not having any of these symptoms in my strongest PMO times then why it is that withdrawals from these are giving so weird symyptoms..
and in last 3-4 days acne on my face has grown so much that even my parents are unable to understand the same.

I read many thread on Nofap but some withdrawal seems to be from anxiety ... but symptoms of GERD and neuropathy after 33 days nnofap scares me a lot.

I am even eating very healthy, walking 4 kmsa a day, more praying to good, studying more, doing more good tasks etc. then why???

eating Vitamin B12 capsules, drinking more water etc.

I am also going to have a treadmill test in this week. so I am scared for that also.

Any experience, suggestions, and how much time will I take to recovver, whether or not I will recover, did anyone recoverd from these symptoms ,,, these all are questions running in my mind... I would be thankful to everyone who help me ???...

There are many people on the forum, so please anyone help me?? I am also searching for these symptoms and natural cures for them....

Yeah this is normal. Take it one day at a time. If you feel like you're going crazy, check out the book "Mastering your Anxiety and Panic".

  3. I had all those symptoms. Also the physical ones like acid reflux during sleep, abdominal stinging pains, boating, diarrhea, grey shit, jelly legs, tinnitus etc. The worst were the mental symptoms like massive anxiety, agoraphobia, low confidence, severe social anxiety, depression, confusion, hypnagogic hallucinations/sleep paralysis, nightmares, derealization etc.

That's a hard question to answer. A few years ago I felt these terrible withdrawals for a really long time. Since I learned about managing anxiety and started incorporating different tools, I don't really feel those horrible withdrawals anymore.
My advice to you would be for you to tell yourself now that by the year 2021, you're going to be a completely new man. Incorporate as much yoga as you can. Also, never avoid things. No matter how crazy and bad you feel, do the things you need to do that day. You'll be able to do them.

  7. Man

I think you're just freaking out. You just need to learn to chill out and not let your emotions and thoughts beat you up like that.

I was like you but it's getting better now. All the things you mention, it's all because of one thing: anxiety.

You need to relax and not let your thoughts and feelings take control of you (thoughts and feelings are not who you are). Anxiety causes mental pain AND emotional pain.

You need to learn meditation, do sports like swimming or something. Find hobbies that you can focus your attention on instead of ruminating in your head.

Read books like The Power ot Now from Eckahrt Tolle or other books about anxiety management etc.

How long it will take to recover: it depends. It's different for everyone. In fact self improvement is the work of a life time. If you want to change your life, then do it. However long it might take. Period.

Thanks a lot brother, so did you had these symptoms and is it all due to anxiety. Another thing is that one thought of mine says is that it's all due to anxiety bcz when I am anxious I get these symptoms mre intense but when I am not they become very less noticeable.

By the way thanks a lot for sharing your experiences.

  9. It's because of anxiety man.

You need to start meditating. Until you do so, you will not even be able ti realize how anxious you are or when you are anxious. Maybe you think you're fine but in reality there is still anxiousness in the background.

Man I went through phases of my life when I had constant diahrea, I was vomiting like 4 times a day and stuff. I have all sorts of physical problems including neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain. And it is all due to chronic stress.

Of course to avoid feeling uncomfortable emotions, I was escaping with drugs such as cannabis and I was PMOing like crazy. Which just aggravated everything (vicious circle).

Chronic stress and anxiety causes all sorts of crazy shit including serious physical diseases such as cancers. Look it up.

You have to chill out for your own sake.

Thank you so much for helping. you are really very good brother and I was just expecting someone to guide me like this.
I just want to get me physically fit within this or 2 months because withdrawals are very frustating and I also wrote a quote for it... The pain of recovery is million times more than the pleasure of addiction.

BUt god gave us the direction to atleast recover, there are people who are involved in all bad stuffs along with PMO and that what motivates me to go strong with NoFap and do more good to family, myself and people around me.

BTW, your guidance will improve my journey.

I will be in touch with you for further queries.

    Thanks

I also have anxiety. What I found out is that I have it much more when I am online, especially checking social media. So I try to avoid it and be as much as possible with people. Just talk with them offline or by phone. Don't be alone, especially in the evenings. It helps me not to focus on this anxiety.

Last evening I thought that I would feel like shit if spend this evening alone. So I texted 7 girls and one of them agreed to come for dinner. The point is there are people around who can help you. You just need to make an effort to socialize more.

As you said you had it in your PMO times and NoFap has cured it but I am (now almost cured) having it as NoFap withdrawals. People on the forum told that it's only because of anixety and I found that fact as true because from past whole week except when I am sleeping in night, I am constantly anxious about withdrawals and as soon as my anxioussness increases these symptoms become intense. Now, only having some muscle twitches and slight pain in hands only when anxious, I think i am anxious from inside.

Yesterday I had muscle twitches in my face, i got scared for a while, took 10 deep breaths and within half an hour it susbide.

So, like everyone said, I also believe that all my symptoms are from anxiety only. Thanks for replying BTW.

Yes, you are true, I also have it when I am online but being a computer science student in sophomore year, I need to stay more online for my coding purposes. BUt nowadays, my online activity is only centered to NOn-PMO content which was earlier only directed to that.

Earlier it was not chrome but it was my mind that showed pop-ads.

Okay, so like everyone you also believe that these all symptoms in withdrawals is due to anxiety (extreme one).

Thanks for your response. I agree to you all but you all it is no denying that strange withdrawals fear you to worry a lot about your health and what I have learnt now is that I only want to be healthy. Rest is all secondary, if you have a great health.

If you have a great health, you are better physically, mentally, socially, pyschologically, and somehow financially maybe.

Again thanks a lot, BTW I am surprised that no one voted in my poll with this thread.

Everyting is just in your head mate, go work hard in gym set some goals of muscle growth and take ur mind of all the worries. When I worked hard in the gym I had only that in head and everything else just went away. It has a few downsides as u become a lil narcisist but overall it's a win.

Thanks a lot for your nice suggestion. I also thin that working out at Gym may help me but currently as I went to doctor 2 monthsback for chest pain (while I was on NoFap). He suggetsed me to not do any heavy workout. HE said do all regular activities and walk daily.
Therefore , I am eating very healty, no extra salt no packaged food, only pure vegetarian vegetables, fruits, and all 99% healthy stuff, I am walking everyday for around 1 hrs (distance wise: approx. 4.1 Kms) and having nice and increased will to do stuffs like coding, socializing, I am more attentive, more spiritual, better focused towards my goals.

BUt as you said I agree that it's all anxiety. I am working on it but as soon as I defeat my anxiety for a moment. the next moment anxiety, negatie thoughts and fear of withdrawals overpowers me with the thought that will withdrawals cause me some ill effetct. That's all.

BTW, all of the fapstronauts (Brothers), thanks for giving your precious time to me and suggesting me and motivating me to move forward with NoFap and healthy lifestyle.

It's tough but I can and I will.

Dude, you are going through withdrawals. We all went through it or are going through it. You should also learn to search these forums and read while waiting for others to reply to your post since all of this has been discussed several times by many users here. Withdrawals are common and happen to everyone with varying degrees. Acute withdrawals which are physical in nature go away in 2-3 months but post acute withdrawals which are psychological in nature are the real curse. They take some time to go depending on the severity of your addiction. I am still going through social anxiety and panic attacks for no reason after 10 months.

Thanks a lot for your kind suggestions. Will look forward to it . BTW past week has been very much like a roller-coaster rider... I had a panic attack (severe one), doc didn't found anything wrong. I am having no urges but my mind immediately looked at some hot girls (not at faces but the chest). It happened for a second but then I turned my diections... I had a few erection in nights after I had some pornographic dreams.. .. Past two days I am having some abdominal pain while rubbing my fingers around the abdominal. It's not new, I had it in the beginning two weeks in this streak but then it went away and is coming back as the slight urges are coming. It's very less intense but is there.

So, I still have long way to go...
