So Last night I tried to sleep as usual but I just couldn't fall asleep for nearly 2 hours. I ended up PMO'ing as my erection wouldn't go away. I still couldn't sleep. I feel that once I deal with one problem. Another appears. I didn't know what to do this time as taking a cold shower would def wake me from the instant change of temp. going for a walk that late would also just wake me up and make it harder to sleep. what do I do then? I am out of idea's.

Hey man, i had the same problem as you have, what helped me a lot were:
    1: reading in bed
    2: doing yoga before bed
    3: meditating
4: drinking some tea before going to sleep

You could give those a try they might work for you.
    Good luck

Reading? I don't own books for reading. I don't want to use electronics like phones, tablets, etc. As they can lead me to look up P. Wouldn't drinking stuff make you wanna go pee later?

Buy some books, reading is great. You could also try L-theanine, melatonin, magnesium, or ashwagandha before bed. Diphenhydramine found in tylenol PM also works, but can make you feel groggy in the morning. Don't use electronics in bed, perhaps download some blue light blocking programs for your phone and computer. Make sure your room is as dark as possible and cool around bed time. Take a warm shower before bed, this will cause your body to compensate by dropping it's temperature, making you sleepy.

I dont know about him but for me watching tv, playing videogames, watching movies, youtube etc. Only made my urges EVEN worse which is why i got rid of them. I think the best thing for him to do is stay away from any electronic screens and instead meditate, read, or do pushups and situps instead. When I read and write around nightime in bed it makes me fall asleep way easier compared to if I'm looking at an electronic screen which only keeps me awake.

I'll try and get a book I guess. I don't read books though. I wanted to continue a story I wrote in HS but I never got my journal back which held my part 1 and part 3 of my story.

I recommend reading books tailored towards nofap like and porn addiction like

    Think and Grow Rich
    Cupids Poisoned Arrow
    Outwitting the Devil
    Quit porn and get rich

You can find them for $15 and less on amazon. They are GREAT books I highly recommend them. Good luck

It's the dopamine starvation mate. There isn't anything you can do about it except keep going, away from PMO. For me it took around 40 days to start getting fixed. As for 222 days after starting, I still have occasional insomnia, but less and less every month.

Insomnia and anxiety increase the dopamine in your brain. It's a trick from your physiology. A hateful trick.

I need 2 weeks to a month to reboot. Even though I've been fapping since age 11.

It does not make sense to me either, probably because I don't understand the chemistry of the brain.

I don't have the sources now but you can surely find it by yourself, use a search engine: anxiety and sleep deprivation increase the dopamine levels in your brain.

Maybe someone like @bken can shed some light?

Natural remedies, melatonin, valerian, hops in tea form; milk; other herbs like ginger are great. Cutting out caffeine is one solution, no junk food diet. Erections die if not fed, I don't know why people seek so much testosterone. You reap what you sow. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_a_Man_Thinketh
