Feeling of Disgust.

    Hi. I am 23 years old guy. I have been watching porn since I was 14 years old. My frequency of masturbation since past 3-4 years has been around 3-4 times per week. Though I don't have issues like PIED, I still want to get rid of this menace. I started hard PMO Mode and was on 10th day today. But somehow I have relapsed. Please do help.

    hey @Diveintospiritualism . Engage in some activity that you like ,other than porn. In my case i started reading books, playing pc games.
    which are my favorite activities. Mostly PMO thoughts come to us, when we are feeling bored. So keep yourself busy in a activity.
    Change your environment: Are you watching porn in bed, living room or some where ? get up and walk away from that environment.
    this Environmental cues are needed to be taken care of.
     
  3. Try not focusing on Porn.
    Set yourself small goals daily that you can achieve , go out and connect with people,

    If you want to discuss in real life your problems try finding some NoFap Friends or go to Alcholics Anonymous
    Sexaholics Anonymous , google these two groups and find a meeting

    I was
    I was fixated to my laptop screen for the last 9 days since I had to compete my notes. Today was the first day when I had to study from a book and I started getting urges. I somehow couldn't control myself and brought laptop from another room and started watching explicit stuff. I knew that I would relapse this way around but couldn't get hold of my urges. Also this has worked quite opposite for me since I got urges when I was away from digital media, contrary to experience of other people.This is very heartening for me since I had observed the following since last 4-5 days of No Gap-
    1. High Energy
    2. More concentration when studying.
    3. No pimples
    4. Extra Joyous mood.
    Now I fear for the fact that I have to start over again. Did you relapse when you first started this journey?

    You realize 3 times a week is ok right? Maybe try once a week.

    Yes at first when i started pmo i relapsed on 22nd day, then i had to reset the counter.

    This is really bad advice to an addict. That’s like telling an alcoholic that Alcohol 3-4 times a week is ok. It may only be 3-4 times a week now, but as he gets older, the addiction will only escalate.

    Hey @Diveintospiritualism I feel that was as well when I relapse. Disgust and dirty. That's when I started to think how much I hate porn. I hate what it does to me. I hate where it takes me. And like you, I hate what it takes from me. You've made a good list there of things that you gained from quitting porn for 10 days. One thing that helps me is to concentrate on what I gain from quitting, not what I think I'm losing.

    Then pick yourself up, dust yourself off. And start another day!

    I mean that is the advice many doctors give. It's up to him to monetize his actions.

    and what do you mean an alcoholic 3-4 times a week? 3-4 what? glasses? cups? bottles? shots? if it's cups then 3-4 isn't that bad though. Scientifically speaking that won't do much to your body. I don't drink myself but that isn't harmful. 3 times is the max you should do a week if you can.

    Start small old habbits die hard, especially ones that provide the brain with an instant dopamine blast and the illusion of sexual fullfilment.

    Firstly you need a reason to declare to yourself daily why you want to abstain from PMO. A clear goal is paramount to fighting the urges.

    Your entire young adult life your brain has been influnced and exposed to hardcore porn so start small and set yourself a 30 challenge and see how it feels to go a month without porn. If around the 7 - 14 day mark you find youself having serious urges, then thats your brain telling you that you have a psychological addiction and depencacy on porn.

    Thats when you know you made the right choice in addressing an unhealthy addiction

    Good advice @Dr.LoveLength . It's strange when you think majority of us have not had an adult life without PMO. You have to learn how to be an adult without it...

    Though 3-4 times a week was when I was not aiming for NoFap. Sadly, I have relapsed today again, just 2nd day into my streak.

    I did relapse today just into second day of my streak. I make it a point here today- I won't succumb to this dirty shit ever again. I will keep updating daily here for accountability. Thank you for support.
    Some experiences I would like to share after 2 relapses-
    1. When I watched myself in mirror after tapping, I seemed like being ugly.
    2. My 10 day streak energy was unmatchable.
    3.I cannot and won't enjoy digital rape of women ever.
