Same age couples are one invenction of the modern era and the first big culprit for the colapse of the family. Let's be specific here. Same age couples just meet in their reproductive circle 2 times in their lifes, the first when they are at 30. She is falling, he is ascending. Thats where most couples marry nowadays, in a few years they will be both 40. He will be at his prime and she will be decayed, even if still hot, she would not be in her prime, quite away from it i am afraid. The second time they will meet will be around 80yo. When both reproductive circles have been long finished. She underwent menopause around 50 and lost all sexual desire, if she is a nice wife she will use artificial lubrification just to let her husband use her without any pleasure, and ANY decent man would feel like a rapist.

19 years difference is a different history. (she will make 20 in a few days, its 19 years and 3 months difference) with that difference you have both reproductive cicles in conjunction.

a 20yo woman is at her prime, a 40 yo male is at his prime.

a 30yo woman fell a little bit, but still hot, a 50yo male fell a little bit, but still hot.

a 40yo woman fell a lot already, but still reproduction capable. a 60yo male fell a lot already, but still reproduction capable.

a 50yo woman is entering the menopause, no more interest in sex. A 70yo man still have interest in sex, but way less than before, so is less affected by the ending of his partner circle.

The only real problem is that the woman will spend quite a time as a widow probably. But even so will be less problematic for the family to take care of one elderly person at time instead of 2 people to run around at wheelchairs at the same time.

I NEVER had a relationship with someone younger than me, but i am in love, i am not part of the problem My wife was 1 year younger than me (she died 2 years ago so yes, i am a widower) and from the "serious" relationships i had she was the younger one, all my other GFs were 2 years my seniors. And to comment on OP - I'm not in the dating game currently but I understand that things are getting a bit more intense. I go to college and it seems that everyone is either in a relationship or just got out of one. I don't like how social media and dating sites have changed things. You used to have to see people in person and establish a connection. Now the connection comes after the sex and there are a lot of disappointed people who regret hooking up when the connection never happens. I swear I will never use those sites as long as I live.

 

Well, i don't see that way, sure, i don't know what country you are from, but nowadays most of my female friends are on their 20's, most of them tried to sleep with me more than once (yes, i am that selective) and they all went crazy when i said i am in a relationship. You said in your own text that the world (in the west) have become SUPER feminine. Thats exactly why women in their 20's don't marry men in their 20's. At 30 they know they are beggining to fall and the guys got more mature and more atractive, so they marry, just to divorce in a few years. And ALL my friends said they want a older guy.

Like i said i never went like "crap, i will find a 19yo for me" it just happened that way, and her objective was to use me for sex, i am just the best in her favorite past time, so we end up relating in several things. I am not rich, and she study and works a lot and never let me buy anything for her other than what honor demands (hotel rooms, dinners, this kind of stuff, that i always paid even for my older exes).

Agree with you on this, sure we are going down overall. The only thing is - negative thinking about today’s society not going to help, try to see some benefits in the current situation - probably you could find and more clearly see some good women (depending on your definition) in all this ‘trash’ which fell down for temptation and easy sex.

On age difference - I think it is completely normal. Girls mature much faster than boys (so that’s why in many cases when young they are not interested in dating boys of the same age), they get older when giving a birth (like +3 years at once), the most valuable (in eyes of women) characteristics of men are maturity (protector etc.), position in society (provider etc.). That’s what you give to the plate, so men are like wine, lol. And one of the most valuable women characteristic is her health (beauty (which considers as a sign of good health), young age, virginity in ideal case).
But it’s a question of choice and preferences, so if you like women older or of the same age it’s you choice.

 

@Bigamo All that age breakdown stuff you posted seems like a lot of sex-centric objectifying. Most people that get middle-aged and past find other elements of life more meaningful overall. I think media in general does this and social media does it worse and pornography is the worst. My marriage is certainly worth far more to me than a new age bracket either I or my wife are in due to biological happenstance and the age we all accrue in a dying world. There's lots of ways to be happy with your spouse, and none of them are centered on lust, though maybe augmented by physical connections.

The whole over-the-hill concept denies a more advanced philosophy to look at one another as having potential to be progressing always upwards in emotional maturity and light and knowledge and dedication to causes that serve the world outside ourselves. It's a constant progression, not a story arc. What is a life without being well-aged and enjoying the harvest of our labors and choices. A story without an end never was appealing.
