Every guy is actually in the same position when you think about it?

What I was thinking is every guy with an unlimited high speed internet access, which lets face it is most guys, has the potential to masturbate to porn and artifical sexual stimulation so much that they develop a sexual dysfunction and porn addiction.

I feel like some guys must of been more prone to abusing porn and artifical sexual stimulation than other guys.

I am 29 now, and I got my first laptop when I was 18. This is when I first began masturbating to porn and artifical sexual stimulation regularly. From what I remember I quickly discovered all the porn that was online, and I quickly developed a bad habit where I was masturbating to the stuff multiple times every day. This went on like this for almost a decade. Then I realised my penis wasn't working correctly, I somewhat realised the more porn I was masturbating to worse the erection problems were, and then that lead me to discovering yourbrainonporn, nofap ext. But it even still took me a while after discovering these things to 100% believe porn and artifical sexual stimulation could cause erectile dysfunction. Obviously I 100% believe it now.

But what I was thinking is why was I so different compared to my brother and my friends? Why was I so much more prone to masturbating to porn on the internet at this frequency? I have had quite severe issues with my mental health since around the age of 17, so I am not sure if this played a part in me being more prone to abusing porn. I didn't have much sexual experience and was a very anxious person, especially around females.

Then my brother and friends did have much more sexual experience than me, and they also didn't have any issues with their mental health like me, or as much issues as their mental health as me.

So I am just trying to puzzle together why I was much more prone to abuisng porn compared to my brother and friends.

The thing is I didn't actually have any idea binging on PMO was harmful until about a decade later, and by this point I already had severe porn induced sexual dysfunction, porn induced sexual conditioning, porn induced brain chances and porn addiction.

So I definitely think there must be factors as to why guys binge on porn and become addicted to porn and some guys don't, and I think there has to be factors as to why some guys develop porn induced sexual dysfunctions and some guys don't.

I think potentially having issues with your mental health might play a part in a guy developing porn addiction, I also think isolation might play a part in a guy developing porn addiction, and isolation is common with mental health problems. I also think the porn induced sexual dysfunctions could be more likley with guys that have little or no sexual experience, and the guys that have had a lot of sexual experience seem to be less likely to develop a porn induced sexual dysfunction.

But another thing I believe is when you logically think about it all guys are actually in the same position. I believe all guys could start masturbating to porn and artifical sexual stimulation so much that it could lead them to getting brain changes and developing porn addiction and a porn induced sexual dysfunction.

I believe the majority of guys will masturbate to porn and artifical sexual stimulation. What I mean by this is I don't believe there will be much guys that will be 100% totally clean from porn and artifical sexual stimulation. So maybe one guy will masturbate to it for 5 minutes once a month, maybe another guy will masturbate to it for 10 minutes once a week, maybe another guy will masturbate to it for 20 minutes once every few months, maybe another guy will masturbate to it for hours every other day. Basically what I am saying is I don't think there will be much guys that are 100% clean from it, that never masturbate to it ever.

If a guy can end up masturbating to it once then the potential is there for them to masturbate to it again, the potential is always there for them to masturbate to it more frequently, the potential is there for them to masturbate to it so much that they develop porn addiction and a porn induced sexual dysfunction.

So basically I feel in this day in age every guy is in the same position when you think about it.

I think some people are just more prone to addiction in general or more prone to needing high stimulation.
Maybe more prone to isolating themselves/putting themselves in situations where masturbating often/for a long time is easy.
Maybe lower emotional stability means a bigger chance of getting this addiction. Or some might even do it to "feel something".
It can be a high sex drive that's unfulfilled, a coping method for emotions that aren't being dealt with.
Or for someone like me bad experiences and loneliness made me scared of rejection AND I started using it as a coping method AND needed high stimulation AND had a high sex drive AND was prone to addiction.

It's probably not just the medium (P) but the reason for it. Just a sexual outlet and nothing else? relatively harmless I guess?
But as soon as it's one of the reasons above it can just spiral completely out of control.
Which is why there's so many guys who have this problem, just not many who can see it, want to see it AND try to change it.
And it might not be a real "problem" now. But what happens when their wives stop wanting sex or they get depressed? It's waiting for you to slip up.

  3. Remove porn from your logic (which is sound by the way) and it's easier to understand the puzzle, therefore understand this fix. We all have access to alcohol, we're not all alcoholics.

Why do people become alcoholics, drug addicts, have gambling problems etc etc. It's a break away, a coping mechanism, a release, whatever you call it.. it's the same thing. There is something in your real life that causes you pain emotionally, and these things allow you a relief from it.

At least understanding the root cause of the pain is needed to move beyond the initial addiction. And I believe being able to resolve the pain is what removes the addiction for good.
