Did you went to see a profesisonal? Sometimes it's a good help to reach out other people than just ourselves because they can see things that we can be not seeing

I know that feeling of loss of control. It's horrible. I'm doing well this time but I have been through hell trying to quit in the past.

As Jordan Peterson said about porn addiction, the problem is not that you're trying to quit, the problem is finding something better to do in your life. Think of how better your life could look like in the next 3-5 years if you took care of yourself and think of the hell in the next 3-5 years if you didn't. Personally I am scared by the fact I am now 35 years old and still doing this shit with nothing else in my life I enjoy as much. I don't want to be 40, 50 or 60 and still be alone fapping away to this crap.

for my experienced of struggling almost 3 YEARS on NOFAP !!!! this statement is correct

if you only focus on stop doing PMO you would likely to relapse,,but if you focus on build yourself and destroy that habit with actual habit which are much more positive then u will likely have a greater chance to survive

  6. Are you dealing with PMO or just MO?

  8. Try to heal your mind, only when you recognize it's ruining you, you can stop yourself. I have struggled for few years. I found it makes me ugly, social anxiety disorder(SAD), weak, negative. So i stop for about one week. till now I feel good.Hope it's not too late.

Hey, it's okay to fail. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just try to learn from your failures and you'll be doing much better than the average person.

I personally have been trying NoFap for almost 2 years now, and in just the last 2 months I've seen the biggest improvements on my life and porn use. It took me 1.5 years to get into the right mindset. Don't give up man!

Also, it's really powerful to think about that your streak will never get anywhere if you fap now.
In order to stop, you need to stop. - Yes, this sounds incredibly dumb or simple, but it proves to be pretty hard for a lot of people.
So stop now! You have discipline in you! Scrape every bit of discipline in your body together, and as Nike says: Just do it. goodluck :)

Well, no I wouldn't say I'm struggling with it. But I have an unusual approach. I don't tell myself I will never, EVER pmo again and my world will collapse if I do. I know I'll pmo again. Might be in 3 days or 3 months or 3 years, I don't know. I suppose it's a 'just not today' approach. If I can manage 49 days pmo free from 50 that's good enough for me.
I just think when you adopt a 'never again' approach then your abstinence becomes this terrible burden you have to carry and the whole thing is pretty much doomed to fail. Whereas if you know and accept yes, I know I will fail, but it won't be today, the whole dynamic of the abstinence changes and it becomes much more manageable.
This approach of course is not appropriate for everyone but it works for me.

There are times I can go a week, a few weeks, and rarely a few months without PMO. Lately I can hardly skip a day without it.

Thanks for expressing it like that. I feel the same way, that the goal and burden is too big. I think of it as though it's trying to have every bit of life at once instead of discovering what is happening next. For me too, a little at a time and failure is part of leaning. Thanks for your being here.

Maybe you have to stop "trying" to stop and actually stop.

    1. First ask yourself why do you want to stop - You need to find a very strong reason why you want to stop and believe in it
    2. Secondly, convince your brain that PMO is off the table for life
    3. Third, accept "whatever it takes" mentality - embrace the suffering abstention will bring upon you in advance
    4. Lastly, set yourself daily goals you have to achieve, put them on a list of paper and tick them off every day - this will help refocus your mind from craving PMO to achieving written goals

Here's the Imagine dragon song that tells best what is needed to break out of any addiction:

    "I do whatever it takes
'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains

    ...
    Run me like a racehorse
    Pull me like a ripcord
Break me down and build me up"

Permanent recovery demands of you that you stop physical cycle of addiction first (complete abstention from any sexual activity for a period of timein case of PMO addiction) followed by breaking down your mindset (questioning the way you think and everything you believe in) and recreate yourself on new solid foundations that will no longer need crutches (PMO) to support temple of your soul. My mentor has said that addict doesn't have to recover, he/she needs to break himself/herself to the pieces first and then put pieces back together piece by piece, throwing away bad bricks and adding the missing ones.

Go get help I am currently seeing a therapist because I ran away and destroyed all of my technology to escape porn and society. My therapist helps out a lot I understand my addiction more than ever, I understand that arousal was a way to escape my reality, and was the reason I used to be socially awkward, I understand that I never said how I felt the past few months I released everything I balled up. I don't use the streak method people make it a competition. I listen to SA(Sex alcoholics) speakers and once I get my license to drive I should have it by now Im 19 but I will start going to Sex Addicts Anonymous in order to get help from people who acted out there fetishes or people who went way to far into the bunny hole of sex. I have several blockers with unknown passcodes Im cutting off the source of my addiction just like when I quit vaping I destroyed my vape and threw away all access/evidence of vape. Take this seriously you are an addict its the reason you are here. Treat this like a hardcore drug and get help.
