PAWS from PMO and superimposed on neuroleptic drugs?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 11, 2020.

  1. Hi everyone, I don't know if anyone can answer me. I am worried because I read PAWS from PMO and because I am taking a low-dose neuroleptic for my health problems which helps me a lot and I am under medical supervision, I am afraid that my PMO restart can be canceled by the drug that I cannot leave. Does anyone have experience on this? Thank you very much.

  2. I don't have experience of this, but have you discussed it with your doctor? I think that if you're taking a neuroleptic drug, your doctor really needs to know about your addiction! Discuss your addiction and PAWS with your doctor.

  3. I talked about it, the neurologist told me that the dosage I am taking is low and that the drug intervenes on the pathways of pain and not pleasure, that is, it is not a dopaminergic. But I was still alarmed. Thanks for your answer Mordobarn

  4. Which neuroleptic is he giving you and at what dose?

  5. Gabapentin 300mgx3 times a day

  6. I see. It will not mess with your reboot. It only works on calcium channels (as a blocker) and decreases levels of neurotransmitters like the monoamines serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline and excititatory glutamate and substance P levels to calm the nerves down and lessen nerve pain or excitation that causes seizures.

I was heavily addicted to it's stronger brother pregabalin (Lyrica) because it made me high as a kite and I enjoyed it. I started taking massive doses because of tolerance. When I stopped I had severe withdrawal symptoms including psychosis and severe anxiety. So don't get addicted like me and taper slowly when you want to stop.

  7. Thank you, SleepisLost. You confirm what the neurologist told me, who told me that if I have to stop it we will go the slow path. I am happy for my restart.

  8. Unfortunately I have had convulsive and nervous seizures since I was a child, with very painful migraines as early as 4 years. Only now have I decided to go to the neurologist, I have never taken drugs, neither light nor heavy. I had an alcoholic phase that I eliminated with running, but the PMO has been constant now I am understanding that I have always used it to relieve my physical and mental pain that started long before my puberty.
