Super proud of you my brother!! You´re leading the way :). You´ve arrived at the Cross-Roads, a point where the north-south Harad Road is crossed by the east-west road from Osgiliath to Minas Morgul. Originally maintained by the men of Gondor, who grew tall trees and built a statue of a king, the Cross-roads had effectively fallen under the control of Sauron at the time of the War of the Ring. Orcs had befouled the statue; its head had been knocked off and replaced by a stone effigy.

Relapse again my brothers sorry. I found a hole in my “goodbye ritual” that made me collapse from my 90+ days streak, and is still making me colapse today.

i think this very importante to share, maybe that will happen to you too.

When we attain great lenghts of time pmo free, there´s an emerging sense that we can leave the addiction for good. This may create an idea that we should do one last time, to say goodbye. This is a totally counterproductive behaviour. Here´s why:

1 - addictions are chronic diseases. Technically we don´t know when it will be the last time.

2 - doing pmo and saying “this is will be last time” only reinforces the pressure under yourself, pressure that can be overwelming and result in an impulsive behaviour to do the exact opposite thing: pmo.

3 - everytime that we do pmo “for the last time” we´re not saying goodbye, we´re just reinforcing the addiction on ourselfs.

4 - when we´re certain that we will never do pmo again, and then we do, this will lead to despair and confusion, because we couln´d keep your promise. We feel disappointed and lost.

So let´s keep our humility and don´t make promises brothers. Remember: never and forever are the addiction favorite words. Let´s keep humble and simple: “today i don´t want to do pmo”. Just this day. That´s enough. That´s the core of living in abstinence.

So my advice is mourn the addiction in the right way. Cope with the hard feelings when they come, write a goodbye letter to porn, talk about your feelings then and now, say all the things you wanna say to porn or to somebody else. Make some kind of goodbye ritual if you like. But most of all accept the loss.

Never use the addictive behaviour to say goodbye. That was the trap in which i fell.

Using the addiction to say goodbye to the addiction is the addiction using the addiction to keep you IN the addiction. In other words, it´s an extremely refined excuse to pmo.

  9. I get what you mean, but in my lifetime, I'd NEVER (Note that I'm not mad at you) say goodbye to porn (even if I wasn't addicted). I'd just say something like, 'F*** PORN!!!!' 'PORN HAS CAUSED ME SO MUCH F****** SOCIAL ANXIETY, I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!!' <-- Yes, I say things like this to myself when the urges hit, and I scream to myself.

(Yes, I know that you said not to say goodbye to porn when you have the addicted behavior.)

You are right in terms of those key words: Never and forever. Those are words porn "wants to hear".

As I have told many many many people, hatred is the key to winning against this wretched addiction.

Willpower is a HUGE plus if you have it, because everything becomes easy for you. But, of course, it is possible for your willpower to fade. Once it fades (like it did for me), then the only thing that you can rely on is hatred.

Once you hate the porn addiction like HECK, then you'll go to any length to win. But at times, you won't because you might be focusing on a sexual thought of a hot woman, and that's not good at all. That's why we need to create our own straight paths, not crooked ones.

Lastly @RiseToGreatness, remember not to say goodbye to porn and masturbation again. Just imagine yourself "throwing porn in the fire". As your first post says on here, "You must take your ring... and cast it into the fire." Once you're able to do that, then you are a free man. You'll be a White Wizard.

I feel like I type the same thing about hatred to countless people on NoFap, but I tell them about it in a different way, and then there's always something extra to add into the mix (which, in this case, was the goodbye part).

For more information on my ideology, read my journal, Fighting for a new life. You'll get more information about my ideas if you don't just read my first post.

dreaming about real girls, I need to start working on myself finally. doing only pmo is not enough to alter ourselfs in the longrun. For the 9 days I was focusing on PMO and GYM + diet . I was able to put on weight some 6 kgs during 5 weeks so I m rly satisfied. Need to do more and think less.

I dont see a point in giving any goodbye or writing a letter to porn. To me it only means u still are not commited truly to give it up. What I think we should be focus on is THE GOOD STUFF. Write down cons and pros about ur using porn and try to always read it while u are about to relapse ;) and try to write some journal after u relapse, how bad u feel about it. Write to urself what happens with u when u relapse and realise its not fucking worth it. All urges are only matter of time, mostly the short time, however if u do nothing and try to fight ur temptations well you not gonna win this fight in longrun. After few days of trying you gonna convience urself u must do it in order to move on. At least I was losing my streaks that way many many times :)
What I mean by not fighting is : dont try to calm down ur mind to not think about it, you should rather focus urself on doing something way different. So your brain will stop bombing u ;]

thanks for all the feedback brothers. Yeah, mourning the addiction maybe out of place for some of you, but for some brothers (like me) it definitely plays a role. i did my griefing before, i just fell in the trap of believing that "one last time" would be a proper goodbye, but in the end all it was, was a very elaborated excuse to pmo.

to the brothers that may feel a sense of nostalgia for porn, like any kind of relationship, here´s JK talking on how to mourn the addiction in the right way. Have a nice day :)

Sorry to hear that, addiction is a hard fight but if you can get in there, you can also get out there!
You are married right? What does your wife thinks about it?
If I had a relationship I would (trust me, as I had 2 relationships it was truth) never ever watch porn. I even had no urges in this time. Everything went smooth, till they breaked up. Then I felt alone again and porn was my uh "alternative"?
I dont want to front somebody here, but I just cant understand people who have relationships watching porn? Ok couples who watch it together I can somehow understand. (somehow...) But if one of them watches it? I dont know man for me it is like cheating and loyality is an really important thing for me.

  19. So true, you shouldn't watch porn if you're in a relationship. You shouldn't watch it in general.

    Day 5 here
Most of you heard of it that COVID-19 makes trouble now in Europe. In Germany the area where I live, schools are now closed. This means that one exam is advanced on Monday instead on Thursday. Anyway what I want to tell you is that I will be in some days at home for a long time and I am afraid to relapse. Would be anyone so kind to give some tips to avoid relapses at home for days??
